Fun fact about the two girls that follow Anderson around, Heinkel and Yumie. They were originally conceived as the protagonists of short three part Manga written by Kouta Hirano before Hellsing. Which featured Iscariot as the protagonists, it also had both Anderson and Maxwell making appearances. The final finished Hellsing in many ways is a combination of that three-parter Crossfire and a Hentai that Hirano wrote featuring the characters that would become Alucard and Seras.

The robes and hoods (capirote) that these knights wear are reminiscent of those worn by Catholic Spanish penitents during the traditional procession in Holy Week through the towns. The capirote is also worn by lesser-known brotherhoods such as Nazarenos, particularly; priests. However, it is better known as the attire of the American Ku Klux Klan.
