Mugen learning to write and the teacher kicking his ass always makes me smile. That teacher must be one of the most badass people in Japan if he can drunkenly take out Mugen.

Called Kabuki-mono it was really popular among young samurai. Involving them dressing rather outlandishly and engaging in general hooliganism. Also there's one sure way to get Mugen to devote himself to something. Just tell him he sucks at it. It'll piss him off and he'll devote every waking hour to it.
