Damn, this really hit hard. Never really been a big fan of Polnareff. But seeing him go through the torture of recalling his sister only to have her chomp him was really painful.

2019-08-21 13:58:47 +0000 UTCI see a lot of people getting mad because Polnateff didn't wish for Dio's death, but that's actually pretty logical. The first wish you would want to say to a genie would be a quick wish to see if he really has that power, it would take time to verify if Dio is really dead so you would want a quick wish like the money. So the first wish is basically a test-wish. Then he only has two wishes left, he could wish for Dio's death but that's not really Polnareff way of thinking. Polnareff is someone who is haunted by the past, he doesn't think about the future (he is ready to throw away his life for something from the past) so of course he would wish to "undo" the past and not prevent the future. Then we have how the wishes turn out, with Sherry and Avdol being some kind of zombies, in order to become complete they need to eat Polpol, that's because he is searching for a way to redeem himself, to atone for their death. That's why Cameo say "you created your sister from your own heart". That again ties in with Polpol being ready to throw away his life for the past, and that's what makes him the best character in part 3. Also the name Sherry comes from one of Polnareff's song: "Tout, tout pour ma chérie" which translates to "everything, everything for my darling" .
