I'd say skip the fillers ( they're good) but it breaks the flow of the main story imo and just feels too stretched out

I think many fillers didn't end up in the manga, but is actually "canon material" Since Oda didn't have enough pages in the manga to put in all of his story lines. Manga pages are really compact and needs to go straight to the point, so he told the animation team on what to make for the fillers.

Trust me, WATCH the fillers. G-8 is one of the best filler arcs I've ever seen in a show. I didn't know it wasn't part of the Manga. But it was legendary, fun, and consisted of some of the most fun shit between pirates and marines you could hope to see.

I'd personally say just watch the fillers. Some people are jaded and don't want to see that because they've already seen it and don't want to see it again or just didn't like them. But I enjoyed them and I can already tell you will too. There are better fillers than this one coming down the line.

G-8 is great and Boss Luffy episodes were good. There are nice fillers that are worth watching. Clearly, Curtis would love those when he's enjoying these Alabasta ones. I'll have to disagree that the anime makers couldn't write characters or story, some were just worse than others.

The worlds greatest hero, Fire Fist Ace! ... Okay... Thats a random ass worlda greatest hero. The commander of the 2nd division of the Whitebeard pirates, who gave those kids the idea that that specific guy is the greatest hero?😂 Anyways, yeah this is filler. And I am really not a fan of One Piece filler on account of it getting in the way of the storytelling, I dont really think the anime makers themselves can actually write the characters or story and end up making them into single trait characters meeting really weird things (a lot of which dont fit into the world of One Piece). Oh boy. Some things. How could he bait Ace with Blackbeard when only Ace himself knows he's after the guy in the first place? Knowing of Blackbeards relevance to Ace is very strange for random people, doesnt make much sense. Ace stopping a bullet with a rock was definitely filler, we havent seen anything like that... Closest is Mihawk redirecting bullets, and thats a different thing. Law of physics and stuff.

Overall, the filler is really good in this show. I really think you should keep watching them if you feel like it :) I think most of us have watched them as we went through One Piece. I did at least, since I enjoyed the show so much when watching it for the first time!

Honestly if you feel like it, watch the fillers Curtis. This to me is the one show where I have actually enjoyed all the fillers. I would love to see you react to the current one piece episodes as soon as possible but ultimately it is up to you what you want to do.

Yea, I think some of the distributors have done that with a few of the older shows. I like the nostalgia feel of 4:3. :-)

HD in widescreen? That's weird. The first 206 episodes are originally formatted in 4:3 and it's not until episode 207 that they begin originally formatting in 16:9. So, that episode must be cropped to have that effect.
