I don’t get why Zuko doesn’t see the error in his ways. I know he’s desperate to get his father’s good graces back and be the prince he was meant to be, but if you have two sides to choose from, why would you choose the ones who would throw you to the wolves to save their ass, rather than the one who would fight the wolves with you? He’s confused. I can’t imaging what his problems have to feel like.

So far what you've seen on the white Lotus Is that iroh was upset when he lost his white Lotus piece in S1 and took Zuko on an excursion to get it back, and in S2 he used it to get Into that backroom to get them passage to ba sing se.

I get that master, if you constantly get cocky assholes coming to you, acting like they already know everything, you really dont want to teach them. So when sokka comes and is infact unsure about how good or how knowledgeable he is, that seems like something you can work with.

i forget where i read it, i think it was trivia on the wiki page or something, but i think originally Sokka was never supposed to leave the south pole. it was supposed to be aang, katara and any others they came up in development. but the producers like sokkas voice actor so much they put him in the rest of the story. look at our boy now, all grown up with his own sword and everything

Loved this episode for Sokka. It addressed the small 'issue' that he was not a strong fighter. Reminds me of when Toph said, "3 against 2.. oh sorry 2 and a half"

Fun fact! Theres a youtube video made my a blacksmith where he makes replicas of fictional swords, and a while ago they made Sokks meteor sword. And they used actual meteor material to do it

Aang in that ridiculous armor is a jab at nickelodeon from the writers because they wanted Aang to have some sort of armor so they could make more toys out of it.

One thing I've really enjoyed with this series is the attention to detail. Toph is blind so she's not always looking at whoever is talking and is looking in a random direction just listening. It's so easy in animation to forget this and have her look around like anyone else but they stay true to a blind persons characteristics.

I promised you information on the Cultural influances of Ba Sing Se this epiosde Here they are straight from the Avatar Wiki Ba Sing Se Ba Sing Se, the capital of the Earth Kingdom is based on ancient Chinese capitals such as Beijing, as the creators were inspired by the idea of an isolated city. It also has significant influences from Qing Dynasty China. More often found in Ba Sing Se is the queue hairstyle. It can be worn by all men, with no social distinction. Such practice parallels the manchu queue, forced upon the Han population of China after 1644. All the Ba Sing Se costumes are inspired by Qing Dynasty dress. For example, the haiku girls wear headpieces reminiscent of those worn by Qing Dynasty court ladies. Also, the Earth King wears clothing similar to that of Qing Dynasty Emperors. The Earth King's attire is indicative of the style exhibited in a famous painting of Xianfeng Emperor. The Royal Palace is largely based on the Forbidden City. It has similar architecture, but the Earth Kingdom Royal Palace compound is circular, not square unlike the Forbidden City. The Lower Ring of Ba Sing Se is visually based on many towns and marketplaces in the Central Jiangxi Province. The Dai Li resemble and are named after the leader of the Chinese Nationalist Secret Police, General Dai Li of the Kuomintang. Palanquins, used by the Earth King, were also used in China by the upper classes. One particularly large and luxurious type of palanquin was reserved for the emperor. Similar to how the Dai Li had their secret base to brainwash political prisoners and potential troublemakers underneath Lake Laogai, in China, "Laogai" refers to the system of prison camps begun by Mao Zedong to exterminate or "reeducate" political prisoners under the Communist regime, which still operates today.
