the pacing gets better and while asta does still scream (him being loud is a character trait referenced in the manga) it fits better and isn't even remotely as obnoxious, some people even end up finding it endearing

For a food reference what I mean about hating something bc it’s so similar would be loving pepperoni and cheese pizza but hating a pepperoni and cheese calzone bc it so much like pizza

I personally like this manga it’s at a point where I’m waiting for the next one in excitement but never picked up the anime. I never understood the point of comparing other animes to one another. If you always compare you’ll never enjoy anything unless it’s completely new. I understand a comparison if you’re like you should watch this it’s similar to Naruto but not watch it bc it’s to similar to Naruto. I try to watch/read anime/manga without trying to compare what it does and just enjoy the story for what it is and with doing that I find I enjoy more things

The only two things i know of this anime is that Asta's scream is one of the most annoying things, and that it took a decently fast paced manga (from what i've heard) and turned the pace down to that of a slow sloth.

This 100%... I don't know why some people get so worked up about a series they don't like. There's a LOT of different series here, so if something doesn't suit one's fancy, just skip it, wait a little bit, and something you do like will be coming along. :-)

Well Curtis, as you can see this was a explosive pick for another monthly anime. When I say explosive, I mean the comment section exploded with arguments and negativity. As you can tell from the comments Black Clover reputation is very... mixed. Some people fucking Love it and some people think it’s absolute Trash. However I say, go with how you felt in this reaction and move forward without letting anyone change your view of the show with them ranting about their experience with it. Your experience is the most important thing here and I hope it stays that way.

Asta's screaming causes migraines. Other than that it is a very average shounen full of all the cliches and problems that most suffer from. If you like it then watch it. Nothing wrong with that. Just stop calling it great and singing its praises as something more than it is. And we wonder why the Japanese anime community laughs at the western audience. Naruto is a fun to watch average to good shounen, but western fans, by some form of delusion, have built it up as an all time great, despite the fact that it suffers from all the usual shounen problems. I watch my share of bad anime, i just dont delude myself into believing that if I like it that it is great. Lots of people stopped watching Black Clover, and many for the same reason I did: The fans of Black Clover, just like Naruto, are toxic.

This is a good manga. I've heard people say Asta's voice is annoying and the pacing is a bit slow but I think Curtis would like it.

honestly Black Clover is one of the most generic series I've seen, 25 episodes in and the writing is so on the nose, there's no subtly they scream their message of CLASSISM IS BAD so loud that it gets annoying, it's like the bastard child of Naruto and Fairy Tail in a lot of ways, not bad, but at least from what I've seen so far, it doesn't do much to stand out from others in its genre

I read manga and loved it, imo most hate for this anime comes from Asta voice (or rather screams) and too much similarity to Naruto (especially at beginning), but overall its a good series.

Ohh shit man i wish you would watch this its a bit slow and you can draw a lot of parallels but after 30-40 episodes it really becomes its own series. I didn’t enjoy it very much but i kept on watching and its one of my favorites

Lol before all the black clover hate comes in, I used to be the same. I had high hopes for the series when it first came out but I was kinda let down. It was pretty mediocre until about 40 episodes in, then it continues to get better.
