He hates killing people/demons weaker than he is and if I recall, he apologizes to them when he has to(aka he's given orders by Sakyo). Sakyo is just a soulless psychopath. He does not see the boundaries of good and evil, everything is based on logic and necessity to him.

We see Genkai more than we see Yusuke's own mother. In a way (to add a joke) Gilfs over Milfs...

I've def seen anime do something more similar. Its more keeping his vitals moving and sewing the muscle back together. Its more like kakazu from naruto was inspired from this way more heavily. 4 hearts to make him hard to kill spread apart. And his body can strech and sew together too.
