I'd say it's rushed for a 90s anime but it's still the average pace used for the arcs of most modern anime like MHA

I do agree about this arc having some fantastic back stories. My problem with this arc is the back half is so rushed. Even 5 more episodes would probably be enough to make it my favorite in the series.

If you're referring to the "Demon Daddy" designation, I assumed you guys knew that was another one of my nicknames. My memory is bad, but not so bad that I would forget something as central as Raizen's age... My confusion the gang cleared up was that there wasn't some sort of mystical time skip that allowed the woman who Raizen impregnated to actually be Yusuke's modern mom in some sort of parallel universe or something.

Ok ,fist of all, this was explained, no one blames you for forgetting. At this point most of us expect it. Some one else will jog your memory eventually. what i think is that you confuse the time gap when demon daddy calls Yuske "son". He himself said it was 700 years ago that he got the girl pregnant. So take into account the the average person lives to be around 80, that makes the demon daddy Yuskes great great great great great great great great great grandfather . More or less.

I mean we didn't see the dad in the anime but it was clearly the mom who had the gene especially in the manga where she maybe used yakuza connections to get yusuke back in school after his first death

So Raizen (Yusukes ancestor and the late king) isn't his biological father but in a sense his demon father the demon trait didn't show up in anyone until yusuke because no one was strong enough to inherit the demon legacy but he still has a dad that is shown in the manga and his mom is his real mom but I really have been loving the backstory of all these characters

The woman died in childbirth but the child still lived. Eventually that child gave birth and multiple generations later Yusuke was born. I don't know if it's ever explained if it was Yusuke's dad or mom that had the demon gene that was passed down, but his mom is still the mom we knew at the beginning of the series.

Yuske basically got passed down a recessive gene. Its not like reincarnation or he is directly related. Its a recessive gene like some people have a hitchhiker's thumb every 3 generation ect.

I’m pretty sure they explained that Raizen’s genes were passed on to Yusuke through generations but they were inactive before since no other successor of the bloodline was strong enough. Now that they have, it is not wrong to call Yusuke his son since he’s the only one who truly carries his genes. And Yusuke’s mom is his real mom.

Now that you mention it Yusuke's mom does look a little bit of the ancestor Raizen made pregnant. Maybe she was PARTLY reincarnation, but never got the memories and just instinctively drink to her sorrow? And Raizen didn't sense her either...
