This is the first of what I personally consider the most impactful scenes between the crew and the whole series in general. When Zoro has his view of the world and self respect as a swordsman temporarily shattered but immediately, and while barely conscious he declares he will never lose again. It all comes to a head when he asks Luffy if that is acceptable and calls him the pirate king. Zoro already sees Luffy as the pirate king.
