I last watched yuyu when it was on adult swim years ago. Since then ive watched hxh no less than 5-6 times through. Its interesting to rewatch and see how similar it feels in tone, characters and "out thinking" your opponent rather than out powering them. Using your powers creatively instead of just "believing in yourself".

they all have hidden powers. Stuff that will not be part of the calculations of how strong to make the wall. I think any one power could tip the system. So I would think they will find a way to work as a team. The wall is only as strong as they are. Powers like the gun & sword really are not part of how strong they are.

To me this is better then Hunter x Hunter. Even when I have seen part of this, I still enjoy it more & want to even see the parts I have seen again. I was never that interested in HxH. Yet I wonder what else they made if any other shows.

I know we get a lot of comments comparing Yu Yu to HxH but is it me? Or does the fortress remind anyone else of the Tower Gon and the others had to go through in the Hunter Exam? Also like Curtis said the Gate of Betrayal (cool name by the way, I may want to steal that for a D&D game) is one of the cooler ideas in the early Anime. Kind of shows you even early on the author was thinking up cool death traps and tests like the ones that'd be used in Hunter x Hunter.

Now that the 4 main characters are together now they can be compared to the group in HxH. Yusuke=Gon, Hiei=Killua, Kurama=Kurapika, and Kuwabara=Leorio. I enjoy the HxH group, but I think the Yuyu Hakusho group is a lot more enjoyable.
