MAYBE AANG and ZUKO AREN’T ALL THAT DIFFERENT! - Avatar #13

The crazy herb lady was fun, but the best part for me was seeing a moment between Aang and Zuko... Even if that moment ended with a fire blast. :-D

MAYBE AANG and ZUKO AREN’T ALL THAT DIFFERENT! - Avatar #13

I love how you described Zukos childhood as 'rough'. Keep that in mind.

ErikArts

After the talk about comparing The firelord to dbz dads all I can think about is him yelling dodge! During the agni kai.

Middleman850

this was the first episode of avatar I ever saw back in 2005 when it came out after that I was hooked.

This is my childhood yoooo

I couldn't agree more. Zuko is an asshole but he ain't heartless. Iroh has taught him well.

I think there is something about having swords instead of fire bending especially as royalty brings a certain amount of shame with it. Zuko has always passed over and seen as inferior to his, you know who, and that plays a part in him desperately wanting to show the strength of his fire bending.

I want a movie about Momo's antics during this episode. He had to have found all that crap SOMEWHERE.. some of that even looks expensive as hell, so he's either been grave robbing or breaking into people's houses and I really wanna see that.

Miasimon

I love how you can see at the end that Zuko begins to doubt the fire nation as a whole looking at his own flag. After hearing what Aang had to say about the world 100 years ago.

Zuko was trained by a master swordsman when he was younger. In fact, he was teached by the most skilled swordmaster in the fire-nation. It won't be told in the show, which is why I am telling you now (it was confirmed in the comics). If you are interested in symbolism then here's some trivia: The swords symbolise the conflicting good and the bad side of Zuko, hence two swords. The dual broadswords are one of four major Chinese weapons, and are known as "the most reckless and daring of all weapons".

Who could have guessed zuko was a master swordsman?! I mean trying to break aang out of there I probably could have called today but not as a 14 year old when I first saw this episode. This came out of nowhere though. Why doesn’t he walk around with 2 swords all the time? He’s badass with them

I always get a laugh at the face and scream the guard on the ladder does when he realizes what’s about to happen. Also Zuko being revealed to be the blue spirit made my jaw hit the ground the first time I watched it.

Gabriel Phipps

I never would have pictured Zuko as a ninja type guy... Also when it was revealed to be him I was like "Wait! How did he...?" because he put out that last guard's fire with water (which was from bucket) so I had to go back to watch that scene again.

At 6:57 The Hunchback of Notre Dame facial impression due to frog sucking. Cracked me up hard.

Redemption

Very true... I may have to break that one out at the next opportune moment. :-D

Spaz Boys Comedy

I will say, suck a frog sounds like a fairly good insult.
