Day 52 of my oath: I a 22 year old man do solemnly swear to mention how many episode we are away from catching up to one piece on every single episode that Curtis reacts to and I do not care how long that takes. And on that note: We are 829 away from catching up, ladies and gentleman and the colorful array in between as of today I have officially finished my 3rd year of med school and so starts the four months of dreams where I will do nothing but eat sleep and game ( plus a 4 hour shift at the hospital but that doesn't count so.... screw you).

Since Smoker is literally made of Smoke, he can’t be harmed through normal means, bullets, swords and any other physical attack is doomed to fail. So unless Luffy finds some way to counter Devil Fruit powers than he’s no match for Smoker. Their fights are doomed to always lead to Luffy’s defeat or his escape.

Okay, its not bad perse, but I gotta disapprove of how the anime handled Smoker here. Did he let Sanji pass for a 1-on-1 duel? Thats very much not like canon Smoker. The random things they added to his character completely changes who the character is... Manga Smoker, and the Smoker going forward from here in the anime, has no respect for strong pirates whatsoever. Correct me if Im wrong on anything. What did happen to Sanji here in the manga?🤔 (I will note Smoker beat his ass, Sanji tried to hit him, went straight through, Smoker blew him away). Also an error, blunt attacks dont work on Luffy so I feel he's being a bit too hurt in a lot of anime scenes... Punches dont do anything to him.

About the half filler/half cannon episode. Only the second part of that episode is canon (after the commercial bump). The first part is still part of the filler story so it would be pretty confusing to jump into that without context.

also if you watch the arc with the dragons that's coming up, just ignore most of it. not only is it kinda trash tier filler(it's no g8 base), it even has some continuity errors that cause issues later on in the series.
