OMG He lost his human side. Remember he said he was born as a demon &amp; his life forced him to bond with an unborn human child &amp; live the life he grew to love... so he was half human. Now he must be 100% demon. a wolf demon. the white wolf. can't remember the name from japanese lore.

Yoko Kurama is far and away the best character design in the series. Voice, look, and abilities are insane. As much as I love some of the characters in the next arc, that image of Yoko in the fog is what I think of every time I think YuYuHakusho.

a lot of chars voices in this were well above anything you'd expect from a dub in this time period, but yeah yokos is probably the best in the series. it suits him absolutely perfectly. composed, confident, and a hint of malice. it brings out his character absolutely flawlessly.

So continuing with the other teams gimmicks. This guy Ura Urashima is kind of a reverse of the Japanese fairy tale he's imitating. In the original legend a fisherman named Urashima Taro rescues a beached sea turtle. Who thanks him to an underwater castle called the Dragon Palace. Where he is entertained by a beautiful princess. Spending several days there he eventually grows homesick and asks to return home. The princess warns him against it but Taro eventually wins out. So she gives him a box and tells him to never open the lid. Upon returning to the surface world he finds that several centuries instead of several days have passed. And that everyone he ever knew is now dead. Upon learning this he forgets the princess' warning and opens the box. Which releases a white smoke that instantly turns him into an old man and he dies from old age. The Kid that Kurama is fighting has a box that does the opposite to his opponents.
