A big thing to remember with Smoker is that he's Navy. Navy does not mean you're a "bad guy", despite some of the navy fuckups we've seen. Most of the navy fight pirates because... well... pirates are criminals, and some are legitimately dangerous (Arlong, Buggy, Kuro).

I think this was my favorite episode of OP so far, and im up to episode 180. Its a small episode where not much happens but i just really like it, may have something to do with Zoro being my favorite character

I still don't get why luffy didn't just stretch his arms up to the top of the execution platform or atleast part of the way up and use the momentum to get to the top

So, to clarify, there was a typo in the episode. There are only 12 Supreme swords in onepiece, not 21. We only know two: one which was mihawks black blade, and one that was mentioned by the Seargent Major, which was Kitetsu I, the first of the cursed blades. There ARE however, 21 Great swords, Zoro has one of them: kuina's ichimonji. Finally, there are 50 good swords one of which he got from the shopkeeper. There are also many more named blades, like Kitetsu III, which zoro just bought and almost cut off his arm. However, they are the lowest quality of named blades. So, to summarize their ranking: 12 Supreme Wazamono Swords> 21 Great Wazamono Swords > 50 Good wazamono Swords> Many Normal Wazamono Swords> Unnamed swords. And currently, Zoro has 1 of the great swords, one of the good swords, and one of the many normal named swords. Plus the normal named sword he has is also part of the cursed swords family.

It’s not that smoker looks up to Roger he just respects him as a great man. Smoker doesn’t agree with him being a pirate but roger had a presence about him unlike anyone smoker had ever met.

Again it's the Marines jobs to arrest pirates it has nothing to do with respecting Roger hes doing his job because pirates are the scum of there society they loot kill people burn down towns and of course Luffy crew wouldn't do that but none the least they are criminals if you're a pirates your wanted it's like our society we have good cops and dirty cops like there good marines and dirty marines

The next two episodes 50-51 are filler, they're not bad actually, but just letting you know what happens in them won't have any consequences later on if you ever wonder why they don’t come up again later. the interesting thing is 50 is actually based on a cut idea for this arc Oda had that was even included in a novelisation of the arc that was made later
