God Hiei I know you were stress and being with Granny Gilf and Noodle girl was boring but did you really have to 'stab' the first guy you 'fight' with your 'sword' at least pretend to be straight. Especially since you were so fast about it I mean you were done in under a minute even I last longer than that.

So I can see the inspiration but I just never liked sasuke as much as I love Hiei and it's funny because I think Hiei was maybe kinda modeled after vegeta a little the brash enemy with a temper who becomes an ally though for me I thought Hiei was the superior vegeta archetype but super raised vegeta up in my eyes it may be a tie now

There is a reason why i think Hiei is the most badass character in the anime history.

Gen kai really developed after meeting yusuke. in the past, she was willing to give Rando her power even if that meant many people would die, but now she only wants to give it to someone who wouldn't kill their own teacher for it. It's a very subtle type of character development.

Notice everything from hiei’s ‘even more black than usual’ clothes to the shinier than normal hair, the grey wrist wrap, etc. are all directly taken as inspiration for sasukes look in the chunin exam fights. But more importantly, here on out the Real Dark Tournament begins. Starting next episode till the end you see why this tournament really is legendary. You ain’t seen nothin yet old man

I love the ways Yuske gets power in this show. Its usually a diffremt way every time. First he did the basic train with a master twice now and learn that he never really tried his hardest at anything in life making him weak from Genkai. The time he needed more power againts bird boy his body literally just started using his life energy when he was dry on spirit energy. Now he basically jas to be tourtured in a cave for his next hopefully permanent boost this time lol.
