2019-04-25 07:48:25 +0000 UTCSeason one is far more episodic. Especially at the beginning, but, on top of just being fun mini plotlines, they also provide very important world building for later. The only two series I can think of that beat it's world-building are One Piece and Gintama. Season 2 and 3 move on to the multi-episode story-lines you're are more used to with other animes.

Really big voice actor whose done dozens of shows avatar fans have probably also seen. You probably would recognize him as Captain Bantu from lilo and stitch, or Sebastian from little mermaid

I've seen some try to make the fear defence i.e he or his family was threatened, but it brings up the issue of no one else being around. With the fire nation having no idea about what happened he would have had to go to them of his own free will
