It usually isn't meant to excuse their actions -- in this case, it doesn't shy away from all the alumni saying he's cruel -- but instead to show that everyone has the capacity for change. Less "forgive them" and more "don't give up on them."

2019-01-23 03:05:12 +0000 UTCHe was always kind of an asshole but after that incident with his staff he became very untrusting which kind of ampilfied his distaste for anyone who questioned him like those employees. I guess he got slighty paranoid and wound up about people and just became what he is. Not saying that excuses him but I feel like I can understand how someone could end up like that, though he does become better in time.
