Alright, you guys weren't kidding. The last several episodes have been fantastic. Bro's return was so good. I can also see how a giant chunk of the budget went into these last several episodes. The animation especially considering when this came out is so well done.

Hey Curtis, just in case you didn't notice each of the dreams that they were having were of the things that they wanted the most but couldn't have. Jagged Teeth is a beast man so he cannot reproduce so him having a wife and child is an unobtainable dream. Yoko has lost every man she's ever loved, Kamina and Kittan, so her marrying him is an unobtainable dream. Simon wants Bro back more than anything but he is dead so it is another dream. The Anti-Spirals were trying to get them to give up by giving them what their hearts desire appealing to selfishness which the Anti-Spirals represent, as they want to impose their own ideals on the entirety of the universe. However they didn't bank on the fact that Team Gurren believes in something more than themselves and therefore it is their selflessness, that is symbolised by Kamina as the helping hand that they needed to snap them out of it, that frees them from their dream worlds and allows them to continue the fight. This series is really under appreciated for it's themes and a lot of people just write it off as a fun but dumb adventure, completely overlooking the depth that it has.

It’s really heartbreaking if you remember beastmen can’t have kids and it seems they really are just men too

This episode is one of my favorite anime episodes ever. Just seeing that all Viral really desires is a wife and kids is heart breaking.

I second that you should watch it. I think the original something you must see. But the movie version gets more hype and is way more revealing!

I realise at this point that you've seen how this plays out, but please: Lagann-Hen (the second feature length movie) contains an alternate (I'd say improved) version of the final battle. I guarantee it will grant you closure 😁
