While 兄弟 does use the kanji for older and younger brother it typically is used to mean sibling in general, so I wouldn't really say that your first point holds any water. That is, unless there is some other context in the databook that implies it's referring to "brother" specifically.

To Curtis. Ok, now it wouldn't be considered as spoiler anymore so I will come up with all I have. 1. According to the 2004 Databook it wrote in Japanese that Zoldyck family has "5人の兄弟" (Go nin kyoudai) their name is Illumi, Miluki, Killua, Alluka and Kalluto (current no.4 of Ohantom Troupe) In strict way to translate "兄弟" (Kyoudai) means "Brothers", so 5人の兄弟 should translate as 5 Brothers as well. So, even Alluka has appearance like a girl and Killua call Alluka as sister, but from the above we just have to say Alluka is a boy. 2. Actually this one might be a spoil but I think you will know this so soon and Silva (Killua's father) said it already a bit, then I decide to say it (if you that afraid just skip it). This theory called as "Alluka is a boy, Nanika is a girl" He said "Alluka is something (Japanese pronounce "something else" as "Nanika" - similar sounds to Alluka). So it's mean Alluka has two different mode in oneself, the one as "Alluka" and the other as "Nanika" So Killua might know that Alluka is a boy but identify Nanika as a girl. That's why Killua said to Silva he knew Alluka more than everybody in the family. 3. This is additional information, I can't remember the sources but Togashi is a pro-transgender, so Alluka is a transgender, which may be make sense in this case.

umm, the millionaire butler and the butler with a lover are not lesbians. that part is wrong. everything else is mostly right but alluka itself uses gender neutral stuff if memory serves right or says it's name. it can go both ways or I usually say it but honestly it would would at this time be correct to say he or she. there isn't really a known correct one at this point. Some people like saying she cause they think that's what it identifies as and others say he because it's whats in the databook and what it's parents know it as .

Alluka's gender comes down to the Zoldyck family dynamics. Alluka wears feminine clothing and she addresses herself with more feminine pronouns in Japanese (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this). Everyone in the family except for Killua calls Alluka "he," "brother," "son," etc. However everyone in the family except for Killua also calls Alluka an object, a thing, and not part of the family. Killua is the only one who respects Alluka as a human being and loves her. He uses "she/her" and calls Alluka his sister, which is in agreement with the feminine speech and way of dress that Alluka herself chooses. So what are Alluka's pronouns? I go with "she/her" because it's what Alluka herself uses, and it's what Killua, the only person in his family who respects her uses as well. It's a great and subtle way of showing that when you respect someone, you respect their gender identity and the pronouns that they use, not what you decide and force onto them. (Togashi, the author of HxH, is an LGBTQ+ supporter. His first series pitched to Shounen Jump was about gay cross dressing volleyball players. To no one's surprised, it was turned down. His then debut series was Yu Yu Hakusho. Even in this episode, the two butlers were lesbians - the woman who wished to be a millionaire, and her lover who died trying to fulfil the wishes)

I believe all the Zoldyck kids are biologically male. The family refers to Alluka as a brother/son because they aren't that close, but since Killua knows Alluka the best he considers her his sister because it's apparently what she prefers. Alluka herself never really brings it up or questions what people refer to her as, since she only really cares about Killua's opinion. It mainly exists as a tool to show how little the family understands/cares about Alluka and how closely bonded her and Killua are.

i dont think it has ever been said what gender he/she is but another comment said something about that Zoldyck family calles all their kids sons even tho it looks like there is two girls in the family so it could just be a Zoldyck family thing to call all their kids sons. but i don't know i think it would be best if you choose for yourself what you believe because we have not yet been given a clear answer from what i know

If memory serves Alluka is transgender so technically its a he, but believes he is a she. That's why the whole gender thing is confusing at first.

I know it's kind of harsh to say this about a kid her age. But I don't think Papa Zoldyck was that far off when he said that Alluka is a monster. It's something you hear thrown around a lot in Anime whenever there's a situation like this. But this is probably the first time I've ever really bought into it. I don't even think Gaara (when he was still "evil") when I was still into Naruto scared me this much. Also I think I may have an inkling of why Illumi wants him dead now. Because he probably knows as well as anyone that Alluko could definitely bring Gon back. Which goes against his plans of bringing Killua back into the Zoldyck fold. So Alluka (who's considered a dangerous entity anyways, who'd probably be better off dead) has to die in order for his plans to succeed.

The way it works is Alluka identifies as a female so Killua refers to them as his Sister but genetically Alluka is male so everyone else refers to him as He or Brother, Son so on so forth.

Just to clear up any gender concerns I'll give a basic run down, alluka identifies as female but biologically was considered male, which is why Killua, the only member of the family who respects alluka as a person rather than as a thing, uses her preferred pronouns and the rest of the family uses male, as they don't award alluka the care they would give any other zoldyck, it works as a convenient and useful shorthand for characters stance on alluka, and also a super interesting thematic use of a trans character
