The thing you seem to miss about miss elegance. She actually cared about the guy who used to own the dai gurren. The last thing she does is apologize that she cannot get revenge. She was basically a tsundere that didn't admit how she really felt until her final moment.

Only thing that could've made the Submarine sequence better was screaming in German. Also Jagged Teeth pulling a Charlton Heston, "You maniacs! You blew it up, ah damn you! God damn you all to hell!"
