THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE GREATEST FIGHTS EVER! - HxH #126

This was absolutely insane! This fight has to be one of the best in all of anime!... It seems like the King is actually gone. If so, that's gonna open up a REALLY interesting dynamic for the Royal Guard and our little blind girl!

Because who doesn't love a dead mans switch?

Patrik

Yea, I've put all my affairs in order, because I'm not sure I'm gonna survive this. :-D

Spaz Boys Comedy

Absolutely!! :-D

Spaz Boys Comedy

Youll see what it can do to them in the next episodes 🙈

Jojoekage

Us.

Jojoekage

Thanks. Im gonna remind him next Thursday. Hes gonna upload it on Saturday so he will record it on Friday.

Jojoekage

Now tell me the narration didnt make this episode 100 times better. 😤

Jojoekage

No shit sherlock

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

And that, kids, is what you do when you have troublesome ants in your garden: nuke 'em

Dojee

Given how visibly on edge an emotionally attached he was at the end there... I'm sort of wondering if he should get a full physical before THAT episode.

Jyiber

In a world where they have Nen which protects from all sorts of attacks if you focus. What would be the need for a Nuke? Unless Nen can't stand up to a Nuke? A weapon that can literally exterminate all life on earth.

Phillip Ribbink

Curtis, this is a reminder to watch the entire end credits and post end credits for episode 135 of Hunter x Hunter. It’s a must watch!! You can’t skip it!!!

What I really love about this arc is showing how messed up humanity is. Netero is a man who's done ridiculous training, training that no one else has done, for a Nen that's one of the best amongst all Hunters alive. He's one of the most powerful humans alive fighting against one of the most powerful organisms alive, Mereum. And yet, what happens at the end is a nuke. Not even an advanced nuke, but the poor man's nuke. Evolution, training, nen, all of that is nothing in the face of science and the weapons we mass create. So who're the monsters now? The ants? Or us?

GREAT story! :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

I didn't know that... that's pretty fitting though, huh?

I remember watching this episode for the first time. I was watching with my roommate, who had never seen any anime other than a couple Dragonball and Naruto fights. It was already 2am on Sunday, and we had watched basically the whole Chimera Ant Arc that day. My roommate and I swore it was the last episode we were going to watch that night. As soon as the episode ended, I we both looked at each other with absolute shock on our faces for a good 10 seconds, and then he said, "fuck sleep man, we're finishing this series tonight!" So, we did. Around 6 pm we finally finished the Chimera Ant Arc, and this man said to me, "I don't think I can watch another anime for a while, I need some time to get over this..." Next thing I knew, he had more anime posters than a booth at Comic Con. You know an anime is good when it turns a Chad into an absolute weeb...

Johnny Kiehn

The Soundtrack is so epic. The choir is singing this church psalm: "kyrie eleison" which comes from old greek and means "Lord have mercy" 😳

Jojoekage

Wtf what about 131 ?

Jojoekage

No Gurren Lagann today?

Johnny Kiehn

And or talk no jutsu.

Jojoekage

Thats an insult to HxH.

Jojoekage

There are actually two translations for "Evolution" in this episode. You could also translate it as "Humans potential for malice" Both lines make sense. Weapons like a nuke are a combination of our infinite potential to evolve (trough science) and our malicous nature to use these inventions in order to cause harm and death.

They really wanted to throw a little DBZ battle scene in there.

Zhalterrix

What do you do when a Villain is overpowered? hunter x hunter: nuke him whether its the right or wrong thing to do, because realistically no one can beat him and we have to save lives, other series: give the main character a powerup out of nowhere!

Heisenberg101

He's way too jacked and slender for me to ever get in that category! :-D

Spaz Boys Comedy

Man I've been waiting for you to react to this episode since the beginning of the series and it was well worth the wait!

Typhon

And netero fought with crazy strength and a nuke, instead of the power of friendship and determination. Gotta love hunter x hunter!

Typhon

Did not realize that.

Solebat

Roshi went all nuclear on Cell! ... Oh wait wrong series xD

V_VMat

I think that's a very fair comparison. Honestly this show is so well written that i bet you can find parallels like that through the entire show from beginning to end

BickDiggly

Just like the rose

Mighty Snake

I don't know if you knew this, but the author of HxH actually based the king's design after Cell from DBZ

Silvion

So Curtis when are we getting that Netero cosplay?

Mighty Snake

*Deidara taking his hat off* - Now THIS IS THE ART!) You got me on this one!)

I don't really know anything about the Japanese language but I thought that it could be translated to both evolution and malice. At least that's what some people have been claiming. I hope this is true since that gives Netero's statement a nice double meaning.

I'm not sure if I'm just overthinking this but don't you guys think that this fight has a LOT of similarities with the fight between Gon and Hanzo, the ninja guy, during the hunter exam? In both of those fights the stronger guy had to find a way to make their opponent admit defeat without killing them. In Hanzo's case it was because the rules demanded it. In Meruem's case it was because he wanted to know his name. The protagonists in both of those fights had one of their arms fucked up but they still won the fight. And in BOTH cases they didn't truly win the fight with their own power since Netero had to use the bomb to win and in Gon's case his opponent just gave up the match.

In the end, even the seemingly unstoppable might of the King is no match for a cheap, mass-produced weapon born of human malice.

Another thing I really appreciate about this battle is that it shows (and i think ive said this before) HxH's willingness to rely on ALL of it's characters, not just the "main" character, to drive the story forward. Gon hasn't even MET the King, yet this climactic battle (without spoiling it's outcome) occurred between the king and Netero instead of between the King and Gon, which many other anime's would have chosen.

almost....almost.

Jojoekage

The fight was great and all, but I was really waiting for that ending there, when Netero pulls out all the stops and uses that bomb. It comes out of nowhere and is AMAZING!

Epic forshadowing : Remember when Netero was playing this ball game with Gon ? The only limbs he used where his left arm and his right leg. Now look again, which ones did he lose in this battle ?

Jojoekage

flashback to when netero "fought" killua and gon in an endurance battle using only one arm and leg. best use of foreshadowing ever.

when i fist saw these fight i didn't knew how to fell about it.

The actual quote is :"You understand nothing of humanitys infinite potential for *malice" not evolution. And you ll come to see what he meant by that. Still gives me the chills.

Jojoekage

Netero lost his opposite leg and arm. The same way when fighting Gon and Killua in the hunter exam when they tried to get his ball and he only used 1 leg and arm. That was his pattern the king found out. Its funny thats it was foreshadowing this fight.

Soulley

How tf did madhouse manage to produce a weekly anime episode with movie quality animation and direction after 100+ episodes and quality before it.

Actually, in japanese language, "infinite potential of evolution" can also translate to "infinite potential of MALICE" and in my opinion the word "malice" was much better (About nuke, and human complexity in their mind). And I think this fight is the best of all time, because the depth of concepts behind this fight (To appreciate their opponent, to fight with their heart, how Gungi affect the outcome of the fight and malice of the way and purpose that human created Miniature Rose). Not just a power of characters and animation show off, which is nothing to me compare to all these thing.

Hisoka Morrow

Never forget the time hisoka told netero that he wanted to fight netero, and neteros responce was "thats nice"

Darkslifer#27

Rip netero my favorite character in the show ;-;

Darkslifer#27

whatz crazy is this isnt even the best fight of the arc (;

Jacob Schreiber

Netero gave him the allmighty finger XD

Jojoekage

What Netero actually said is you know nothing of the bottomless malice within the human heart, instead of the stuff with evolution. Basically it is you understand nothing of humanity's infinite potential for malice.

Blue

Easily my favourite right of all time. Not-so closely followed by a children’s card game (I’m serious).

Akettaja The Finnish Moron

you know the show is good when you forget to breath

Nuzso121

Best fight of all time for me. The soundtrack in the back is also one of the best.

Ghoul

I have been waiting for this!

Hisoka Morrow

OMG this upload came out of nowhere
