The story is still ongoing, but the anime skips over an insane amount of stuff and even the main books don't cover everything as a lot of stuff ended up getting revealed in bonus material like the side stories that came with the blu-rays. Which if they turn out to be true Overlord is going to get way darker than it already is.

The light novels this series is based on continue well past this and are still ongoing. There's already more than enough content for a Season 4, and Overlord does really well so hopefully we'll get a season 4 soon! ...Also hopefully they give Season 4 a bigger budget!

The story of Overlord is based off of a set of light novels. Season 3 ends somewhere in the middle of book 9, and there are 13 books. #10 is coming out in english at the end of this month. I cant wait to read it!

Nurufufufu i don't like the ending words "And the story goes on" because it's so monotonous. It could mean many things like the story goes on the LN or just the story goes on, no teaser for season 4 or anything, they just leave us guessing but really hope there is a season 4. Thank you so much curtis for reacting to overlord and i know that you enjoyed it as much as we did. But gazeff vs ainz man, I'm mot gonna lie i expected a bigger fight since it was teased at the intro of overlord season 3 but i was surprised on how fast it was. But know we begin a new whole different journey tomorrow.

Yeah it's important when you conquer a country to install a system that allows the newly conquered to feel like they have a say. (Otherwise you've just set yourself up to have underground resistance). So glad that you watched this and so sad that it's over. Also to answer your question Curtis yeah the story does continue. Each season of the Anime covers about three of the Light Novels. And there's about thirteen of them (only ten have been released in the West though) so you've watched the equivalent of nine or ten of the books. They haven't announced whether they're doing another season though. There's a possibility though if the books sell well enough.

It keeps going in the LN, actually the arc after this one is one of my favorites in the light novel, lets just say poor emperor Jircniv has a lot on his plate. Hopefully we get more seasons!

Can't wait for the next season to come out, hopefully he'll start meeting opponents who can give him some challenge
