OKAY, ULTRA INSTINCT IS ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS EVER! - DBS #110

I think one of my favorite parts of the entire series is Goku giving exactly zero fucks while being attacked by Toppo and advancing towards Jiren.

A spirit bomb (Genki) is like the polar opposite of Destruction (Hakkai)

The beginning of this episode was really interesting to me because a lot of people get confused with the Spirit Bomb collapsing. It collapsed because the forces on both sides of it suddenly became greater than IT. So it inverted and sucked Goku in, esploded on him, and Goku, in a last-ditch effort of willpower, focused it into himself as a battery.

I think Goku just compressed the energy and Jiren just stopped pushing as hard and just toyed with Goku trying to kinda break him while making it look like it was no big deal

Actually Super just took the explanation from Resurrection F and put a form on top of what it was. All it was back then was dodging and moving on its own with no mention of a power increase, the Ultra Instinct we are shown here doesn't just do that but also shows an obvious increase in Power and speed. So this was not Foreshadowed, it was just using a reference from the Resurrection F movie and slapping a new form on it. Toriyama did this with Chichi back at the beginning of dragon ball. He set up her interest in Goku and once he reached a good length into the story he remembered that thing he set up and brought it back.

i remember watching this the first time , as i said in the previous episode when it was a super hype moment of goku coming back from the explosion and whis asks beerus if he has any words and beerus said " hes coming " all my friend i was watching with in a skype call were like YOOOOOOOOOO and i was like .... "gross" every one was like GOD DAMMIT why did you ruin that for us xD i hated myself but was also kinda proud

Goku is still learning about his instinctive power, or rather his body is learning. The key word to remember as this moves forward is "instinct", it was inspired by the movie Enter the dragon

i dont know why i feel like im the only one that noticed but i think goku used more than 20x kioken. as we saw in 109 he used times 20 but jiren still pushed it back. then we see goku push it back again a few times how could he have done that if he didnt use kioken 30 or 40?

Miklar Sihn but if it is Toriyama’s idea then it is cannon on both sides. Also Whis talked about the arm wrestling thing in the anime earlier where he stated that some god beat Beerus in arm wrestling, and he talked about it as if it was a surprise, which implies that Beerus is stronger than the average god of destruction. Multiple people have made videos about this already.

Something really interesting about these two episodes is that they follow a similar overall structure to Goku's fight with Frieza in that Goku fights, uses Kaioken x20 which proves ineffective, falls back on the Spirit Bomb, and then awakens a new transformation. They even have a similar scene where someone (Tien in DBZ and Krillin here) assumes that Goku still has a higher level of Kaioken in reserve only to be told that he's been using that the entire time.

Ultra instinct is a state only the angels have been able to use up to this point. Whis stated (in Resurrection F) that Beerus hasn’t even mastered it and he’s been confirmed to be the strongest god of destruction.

At this point Frieza isn't Stupid, His survival is all he wants so if he has to pull some strings and suck it up with working with Universe 7 he will just for his own selfish desires

This tournament is INSANE! Watching Super has amped up my Dragon Ball love even more from where it was! :-)

It's up there with some of the best transformations in series for me. This form was slightly foreshadowed early in DBS, when goku and vegeta were training with whis and he talks about them thinking to much or not enough
