Not only is the concept of this fight fascinating, but I also wonder what Beerus and Whis' involvement - if any - will be?

Friendly reminder that Pilaf and his followers were the very first villains in Dragon Ball, Piccolo being the last villain in Dragon Ball, Vegeta being one of the first in Dragon Ball Z, Buu being the last villain in Dragon Ball Z and Beerus being the first "villain"/"big bad" of Super. Amazing what a little time around Goku can do to you.

I mean that is technically a plan but not a very forward thinking one. Hoping Goku and Vegeta takes care of their problem isn't gonna help with any other threats that come after the current one. It's like Goku said he won't be around forever and the Earthlings should be the ones protecting the earth but here Trunks his (though he has no choice) asking for help from aliens. It just doesn't help the "Next Generation" development Goku had in the Buu Saga and end of Z.
