Fingers crossed for the dubbed version personally. I understand everyone doesn't feel this way but reactions are better when they're dubs imo. Easier to follow along and you don't have to have your eyes glued to the screen while watching if you don't want to. I can listen to what's going on in both the show and with Curtis while I check my email or order weed online :D.

I've watched one piece through 5 times and I only got just got into one piece 3 years ago the moment that hooked me was "luffy please help me" I had tears in my eyes one piece in the only anime to consistantly make me tear up

I am game as long as we do the Dub version. With a great anime like OP I think you would give a much better reaction if you don't have to split your attention between reading and watching.

pls dont watch one piece.. its way too long and honestly the hype for it is equal to the justice league movie. Depending how things go I may stop my patreon for awhile. yet i still want to see dbs and hxh. maybe i'll just skip One Piece. there are a lot of other people who agree with me but wont speak their mind. pick a smaller better anime curits.. like gurren lagen or ergo proxy or mirai nikki or seven deadly sins or a black clover OR even Fairy Tail!

If I make single videos out of 10-20 episodes of a series, that would put a halt to absolutely anything else going on at THE GOOSH or the YT channel. Every day would be 7 hours of watching, then a couple hours of editing, then finally uploading just the OP reaction.

I caught up to OP a few years back and have been reading it weekly ever since. I love the fuck outta it but honestly, I think it's not a good show for reacting. For me to be interested, you'd need to react to like 10-20 episodes at a time and cut them up to highlights. I know there is problems with that stlye as well, but I feel it's too long and many episodes just are really slow paced. The manga is quite slow paced as well but then especially at later parts it is REALLY slow. TLDR; I would like to see reactions, but not with your usual format.

I adore OP, I hope very much that you enjoy it. I feel like everybody has a specific moment watching it where they realise just how much they love it. I know Curtis would disagree with this, but I personally encourage anybody who has let it pass them by due to how long it is to watch along and give it a chance. It is the best selling manga of all time for a reason. It can be slow at times but it's really worth it.

One piece is super long. But I think that's a huge part of the charm. At the end of the voyage you'll look back on every character fondly and their personalities will stick with you forever. People say that there are much better shorter anime. While that's true theres just a feeling you get watching over the course of years and knowing each crew member's personalities that you just cant get with other anime due to the time constraints of their allotted episodes or budgets in an average season of anime. People like to argue over which anime is better than the other but I've come to realize that each show has it's own charm. One piece isnt my favorite anime but I definitely have a deeply rooted fondness for it that I've never experienced with another show. Oda has brought brilliant characters to life and I will never regret watching a single episode because it brings back those feelings of coming home from school to watch as many episodes as I could before I had to go to bed again as a freshman in high school. And the memories doing the math to see how many days it would take me to finish an arc if i watched this many episodes per day. 5 years later I have never felt a stronger sense of nostalgia in anime than when watching One Piece and I think that's where it shines even with its faults. I see no reason to stand between a man and his wish to go on a never ending memorable journey with a bunch of lovable pirates😂

Plus.... I don't live in the US, i'm from brazil and 1 dollar equals 3,80 Reais (Brazil's currency)... And that's quite expensive to watch 2 or 3 non OP videos a month

For me this would not be a good deal, I get that watching with you would be fun and all... but I haven't watched OP, and don't have enough time to watch the full episode and your reaction to have a fully experience, plus, it's a huge series, even though you're gonna pause it to do another animes inbetwen, I will be paying one month just to wait till you record a reaction that isn't gonna be OP... But... let the majority decide, if it's gonna be OP, then i'll be watching your reactions on YT sadly...

Gotta admit, one piece Filler (pre timeskip) are pretty cool and sometimes funny af. I tottaly get what you mean by enjoying the small adventures inbetween arcs. It gives this family feel to the crew. Like when Zorro and chopper where roaming around in the desert, and zorro explained him the group dynamic of the crew and their relationship to the captain. Or the episode with Condriano 😏 😂

the problem with One Pive fillers is that they often weave them into canon so when the filler ends there is like one episode where the first half is filler and the second half canon so it´s akward to skip it

Huge one piece fan and I love the filler. To me the story makes more sense with it instead of having luffy and da crew going from big event to big event they have little adventures in between. Now that being said I think you should skip most of the filler or watch it on your own and maybe not react to it. It’s long enough without it. And it’s less editing in your part.

One piece is prob the best long(300+ episodes) shonen I've seen. Also I think the goofy humor would suite you well. Also, some people don't like the fan service but since you enjoy some anime titties I guess it'd be a plus :P Oh also, I'm not a "sub purist" and think the dub is always shit, but the one piece dub in particular is one that I think is must worse than the original sub.

Honestly this, he's obviously very interested in it and he'll probably never get the chance to properly watch it if he doesn't do it for a reaction, just because of how long it takes. I mean there's a fairly solid argument against it (one piece voter here), namely the fact that it'll take a good 5 years to catch up to and take up a considerably large amount of episodes which sucks for non one piece fans.

Not to make blanket statements about EVERYONE, but a lot of people automatically turn away from One Piece because of its length and wacky content. It's easy to judge it by its cover, and a lot of people quit watching before it gets to the REALLY good stuff.

And by the way, I know you usually do dub if you can, but I highly suggest the sub. Although the dub is good, One Piece really should be consumed in the glorious sub version. There's just so much that can't be properly transferred over because of how unique One Piece is, and certain voices in the dub feel like they don't capture the original intention. (And I just saw that apparently you've already decided to do the sub. Good job!) Anyway, there are definitely good reasons why One Piece is the single most popular manga ever, not to mention the most popular comic written by a single author in the entire world. I hope the community makes the right choice and votes yes.

Although early indications look like this will get voted in, I'm surprised there are as many dissenting votes as there are, considering the breaks we'll be taking to watch other series, as well as content also being available concurrently at the $1 and $10 levels... I guess I just really get caught up in the idea of what a fantastic journey this would be to look back upon in several years when we are at the end and looking back on the journey we all took together. :-)

Are the warship island and pos-alabasta arcs considered filler? If so, then you could probably skip those and not lose out on the story. Been a while since watched those arcs, so can't remember.

Please for the love of god do subs. I know you prefer dub Curtis, but OP dub is horrible for most characters. I strongly suggest you do the subbed version imo for the best experionce.

I know everyone is saying the manga is way better and the Anime goes to shit. Ive seen both and let me tell you, theres truth to that, but id never skip the Anime. Its DEFINITELY worth to watch, especially pre timeskip. The voiceacting, the soundtracks and the fighting animations, offer you an experience on a whole new level. IMHO 😁

I mean I'm cool with both (personaly I like the dub better).
