Once this series is done, you should check out yu yu hakusho! Its by the same writer and has a lot of similar themes. Its not as long and has a definitive end. Also the cast of character are really likeable and realistic. Just be sure to watch the Dub. Its one of the few times the English version is superior/on par with the Japanese. Personally I think the dub has much more natural sounding dialogue.

You know, I recently rewatched Yu Yu Hakusho, and during this episode it hit me. The Jajanken is fairly similar to Yusuke's Spirit Gun in some ways. Both start with limited uses per day due to stamina usage, both have multiple ways of using it (jajanken rock, paper, and scissors and spirit gun's regular, barrage, and shotgun), and both are basically the character focusing their power in one hand to be unleashed all at once. It seems to me that Togashi likes the mechanic. I'm sure this is old news to most other folks that have seen both, but I hadn't actually thought of it until now. I really hope Curtis gets to Yu Yu Hakusho eventually. It's an older anime, but it has held up pretty well after all this time. Plus I want to see if he recognizes some of the voices that are in it lol.

Great voice-acting moments like Killua telling Knuckle he would never forgive him if he wont give his all in tomorrows fight (knowing full well Gon could die) make me really thankful youre not watching the dub.

Some people may think its plot convince that gon and Killua got so much help from Bisky and Knuckle, but i think Netereo knew exactly that Knuckle and shoot wouldn't kill them.

You know ordinarily when you find out that someone's a coward you'd think they'd never mean it when they say they'll fight. But there's something about the way Shoot said he'd fight that makes me believe that he will. It's kind of like how when a guy who never talks, finally does talk his words have a lot more meaning.

When Bisky was talking about how Killua would leave Gon behind, I'm reminded of when Wing showed Gon and Killua his Nen, and whereas Gon stood there and took it, Killua ran away towards the wall.
