WHEN WE FINISH HxH...

We've got a little way to go yet before we finish HxH, but I'd like to run past you guys what I'm thinking about doing as we're completing that one to see what you all think.

As you know, I'm dying to see One Piece, and fortunately, a lot of you guys are also big supporters. However, it is, of course, EXTREMELY long, so this is the idea I've been tossing about... (In fairness, you guys came up with the idea and I just glommed onto it.)

First, I will have a poll asking if everyone would like to watch One Piece, an arc at a time, and in between arcs, take a break and watch a different series. I'll let you guys guide me on what episodes would be good stopping points.

If that vote is a yes, then the next poll would be whether you guys want to start with One Piece right then or start with another sorter series, then dive into our OP adventure.

After that, we'd have nominations and a poll to see which series you guys want. Then, as we come to the end of each arc, we'd have another poll for the next series.

It's funny, one of the things I'm really enthused about with this concept is that it's gonna take several years to go all the way through. Knowing how nostalgic I get now when we come to the end of a series together - and it's taken a few months or so - I can't even imagine what kind of overwhelming emotion would be there for having completed a multi-year journey with you guys!

...Of course, all of this is conditional on me living that long...  :-D

WHEN WE FINISH HxH...

Comments

I vote yes. There are so many good series I would love to see you react to (Trigun, GTO, Hajime no Ippo, Rurouni Kenshin, etc.) and you are already full, not to mention a 850+ episode series.

i hope at some point u look at doing bleach that would be cool

Will

I have to advise against it. Even if you were to do 1 OP vid a day it would still take near 3 years before you finished. It just seems like a massive commitment on your part.

We'll start them a little ways out before the end of HxH.

Spaz Boys Comedy

When exactly will the poll be? Best at least a week before the end of HxH, so we can jump right into it.

M9M5

full support, just give me the poll

꧁Coltonius Maximus꧂

I quite literally just made a watching schedule that cuts out all filler and has the episodes spread out to multiple days. i can share it with you if you want

I think you should totally do One Piece!!! It's my favorite anime and I'd love to watch your reaction to it! Also it's a feels trip so prepare yourself >:)

I've watched one all the way through 5 times

Joseph a kingsbury

I vote for either Overlord or The Saga of Tanya the Evil. I think you would have great reactions towards either of these animes and they are both short and not quite as simple as One Piece (meaning not as clear on the hero/villian roles).

grant pflum

I vote for Bleach or Samurai Champloo since they're the only anime I've seen that you haven't yet as far as I'm aware.

Master Gamataifu

I would prefer if you would watch it all at once, (not arc by arc) because I don't want to wait two weeks to a month before continueing to another arc. By the way, I binged watched the entierty of one piece in about 1 month and a week. I had a blast.

Jason Corum

I know that a lot of people probably will like to see one piece and it looks like that will be what happens. but biased on this description of what might happen Id say that Code Geass would be a good choice out of all the suggestions so far. but if your looking for a shorter series then SAO, Cowboy Beebop, or If you like some darker stuff then Danganronpa or Death Note would be good choices.

Hey Curtis! Don't know if anyone suggested this but you could try and watch 2-3 episodes per sitting? I'm pretty sure since it's different episodes the 10 minutes allows a 20 minute video, that's what other youtubers are doing. Give it a shot, might make your life way easier

Loro Lukic

You'll live, maybe. I would love yo see you watch, among other shows like death note and attack on titan, Parasyte. 24 episodes of great animation and rather good story. Creepy as fuck with its action.

The Abyssal Drink

Yu yu hakusho definitely. I just started watching it (episode 33 or something) and I’m really liking it. The dub is really good too.

Colin

I would love to see you react to Death Note or Yu Yu Hakusho -- pretty sure the latter is more your style but it'd still be cool to see how you enjoy DN. Those may get the votes. For something less popular, just tossing Anohana and/or Gantz out there. There's a healthy range, haha.

Rue Surnameunimportant

Dbs is only like 100 episodes since he’s starting at 28

Colin

I didn't like it either at first but I would give it chance as it gets pretty fun

Here's another vote for Attack on Titan and Code Geass.

Sal Inger

I admittedly haven't seen, let alone voted, on one of your previous poles, so I don't know how it's set up (whether you yourself choose a number of series and Gooshers vote, or the Gooshers provide names and you count them). If it's the former, I would like to provide a few names, based on the commentary thus far while also adding a few popular anime not yet mentioned. Plus, if it's possible, my advice is that each Goosher may select TWO anime as their recommendation, since many here have a strong love for more than one anime out there: Code Geass, Gurren Lagann, JoJo, Attack on Titan, Fate series (Fate/Zero + Fate/Unlimited Blade Works), Steins;Gate, Assassination Classroom

M9M5

Either Code Geass or Attack on Titan. Neither are too long and are modern classics. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

M9M5

both sevens of seven deadly sins :D

I would love it if you did one piece I dont care how long it takes

Just throwing an idea out there, but I feel that having two long series like DBS and One Piece running at the same time might not be the best idea due to the mere fact that both are REALLY long. In the end it’s up to you how you run the goosh but I would personally stick to 1 long show at a time, and then use the other show slot to watch 25-50 episode series that you could finish and replace with ease— Though I am on board with the idea of watching a series we vote on in between arcs as well. :)

Enrico Gratzer

I would say watch Bleach, but not too many are a fan of that series. I mean, if we're just going to suggest long running mainstream anime to you, which seems to have been the case since the beginning.

Zhalterrix

I can't stand the art style, so I won't be watching it.

Zhalterrix

I think you would like Code Geass. Code Geass is legendary, and a classic, to me.

If you love fmab and hxh your gonna with a doubt love this one too. I can see some arcs that are long enough working fine but some however are rather short so I not sure if that would work but I interested.

i like that idea, and i think death note would be a good option to watch before it (if it’s in the poll) but death not is very short only 30 some episodes but is regarded as one of if not the best anime ever (its ranked #1) it’s very unique and i feel like you would really love it’s plus everyone here has prob seen it as well.

Jacob Schreiber

As I mentioned, the in between series will all be voted on as we always do. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

If you’re watching One Piece, you’re going to be watching that for a LONG time. Just make sure you skip the filler.

One piece will be an odyssey, but i am still hoping for jojo you would probably dig it. A 19th century gentleman teams up with REO speedwagon to fight vampires

One piece in arcs! That way I might actually start watching it with you! XD And Attack on Titan please~ it's terrifying but I'm sure you'd love it~ I'd also recommend Steins; gate but it's really not like anything else you've watched so I don't know what your thoughts would be about it, but I love it

Sofie Lingsell

Yeah man I'm down. Let's do it

Ryan N

How about watch RWBY in between

Joey Visser

Yes One Piece! One idea for a serie in between arcs of one piece might be the seven deadly sins. I think you will really like that series as it is funny and there are big titties.

yes please

Like I mentioned in the post, the length of time it's gonna take is a big part of the fun to me. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

Yu Yu is coming up at the $1 level, Pal, so it won't be affected by OP... Once we finish DBS, it will likely be Yu Yu or BeBop next. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

Chrome was kind enough to make me a detailed breakdown list. When we get closer, I'll run it past you guys and let me know what you think. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

YES YES YES let's do it Curtis!!

Brian Williams

100% one piece In arcs and AOT please 😁

Jojoekage

Holy fuck. Over 115 comments 😯

Jojoekage

Jojo's, attack on titan and gintama are a must!

I like the arc at a time idea. I'd absolutly love you to watch JoJo's Bizzare Adventure imbetween one of the arcs. It's right up your alley, I think.

Pierce Hanley

If OP ended right now it’d take you about 2.5 years to watch every episode without missing many days

I would be happy about One Piece, but I'm really desperate for Yu Yu Hakusho. It's an amazing series that no one reacts to, and it's only about 100 episodes.

GoldArthur

While being greedy I'd prefer non-stop one piece all the time, having a short series in between the arcs would not be a bad idea for those not interested at all. (but only short ones pleeeaassse) And yeah, I think we'll be able to figure out good stopping points as in the beginning, individual arcs can be quite short and blend into each other. My breakdown for the first 500 or so eps goes: 001-061 (pre-grand line) 062-130 (drum + alabasta) 131-195 (short filler + skypiea) 196-226 (G-8 + Foxy - a sacrifice needed for the next arc to remain intact, lol) 227-324 (entire Water 7 arc) 325-381 (Ice filler + Thriller bark) 382-407 (sabaody) 408-491 (rescue arc) 493-516 (flashback + others)

SomeGameNews

I think you will really fall in love with one piece, would say watch multiple arcs in the beginning as they are pretty small, like 5-15 episode arcs, and then when you reach the longer ones, take a break between arcs and watch other series, but you should start the series as soon as you can imo

Heisenberg101

I’ll love you if you watch One Piece. And I mean that in a weird way. Jk But seriously, I can’t wait. I’m hoping for an arc by arc with short series in between. That would be awesome. But Curtis....please don’t die on me. 😭

Buster

I'm so impossibly hyped for this. A couple of other reactors I follow have started watching One Piece now, and you joining in would be the ultimate cherry on top. Whether it's one arc at a time or all together, I can't wait to see that. Side Note: If you didn't already know, the first few "arcs" in One Piece are pretty short, so you might just want to bunch them together on the first go. Arcs get quite a bit longer once the series reaches a certain checkpoint that I won't spoil, but until then they're only about 11 episodes maximum, 3 or 4 minimum. It takes a bit to get into the big stuff.

VampCinder

I would really love it if you could watch assassination classroom it’s soo good and although not really short having about 47 (season 1 22ep and season 2 25ep) episodes you won’t regret it, even though I know you have a lot of other anime to look through

He's watching them on here so it won't matter, he's never put HXH on youtube so he won't put One Piece of there either.

Carlin Huang

One piece is definitely a really good show ,Yet, I don't think its good for reaction. And as far as I know, the copy right restrctions are pretty heavy on one piece so that will be a problem too. Moreover, one piece set in a expanding universefor adventures, characters are a lot &amp; colourful , and stories might be similiar ,but its is also done very well done. one more thing is, according to the mangaka of one piece ,one piece still have at least 7-10 year to go, so even with the current massive number of episodes, it will still keep airing at least 10 year . so I really don't think one piece is good for reaction, but i think its great for your own viewing. I do recommend watching some great but different type of shows, like Steins gate, Gintama or Your lie in April, both three of them are among the TOP 20 anime of all time on myanimelist. steins gate 2 season each 23episode, your lie in april 24 episode, gintama 300+ episode ,etc.. <a href="https://myanimelist.net/topanime.php" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://myanimelist.net/topanime.php</a>

Matsumoto Erkin

850*

Colin

one piece is great just really long 1000 ep. and counting

i think you'll like black lagoon or jormungand there short 22 to 24 episode

Why not keep with the shorter series? Like code geass? Deathnote? Or eureka seven?

Never watched it because it's too big, I would definitely watch here though. BUT I think gintama would be a better pick for a long series.

Douglas Streck

I love the idea of a poll! This is gonna be awesome. One Piece is my favourite series by far. The world building is probably best in class. Hoping you live long enough😂

ZENN

Just dive knee deep into one piece

ChaosKing

We’re going to do the best we can to stop at points where a break shouldn’t be too much of a distraction. 😊

Spaz Boys Comedy

im totally fine with it

Jeremiah litton

I need about a tree fiddy level at The Goosh and I need to upgrade from the 1$ level too

Im 100% ok with that plan

Darkslifer#27

Yes please

Colin

Nahhhh

Colin

Its rare for me to comment, but please do not make pauses in OnePiece, that will ruin ur reactions, but i guess i cant change things( love u

sounds like a good plan if i might suggest an inbetween series,i would as always recommend baki the grappler s1

Charlie baker

Wow i can't wait for some One Piece reactions. Yeah seperate it up then watch other series in between since One Piece is extremely long compared to other anime. Although at the beginning arcs are generally very short then get longer later on, but i'm sure you'll figure out when to stop and move to another anime for a bit.

James L

I like the arc to arc idea. Please react to Gurren Lagann in between. I’d recommend still watching short adventure anime to keep the flow of adventure

I just barely have enough time each day to post what we do now. There's no way I could add another series or watch 5 episodes of One Piece per day... Not to mention that editing 5 episodes a day down to 10 minutes might not be something that we'd all enjoy all that much.

Spaz Boys Comedy

Death Note will be upcoming, but Code Geass would need to be voted in by the GOOSHERS.

Spaz Boys Comedy

but.. if you stop at arc endings, and watch another anime, it would cut the emotion that you feel, and probably will make you forget important stuff or emotional stuff that could connect between arcs.. that would affect your reactions i guess.. cant you just do one piece and another anime at the same time?, or maybe edit the videos with 5 episodes for example in one 10 minutes video or something like that?... one piece has gave me more emotion than any other anime ive watched, i bet you would feel it too.. but i guess you all already talked about this

ya gota agree with you some series pull of an ok dub but one piece isn't one of them they make a 17 old boy sould like a 10 year old

Onepiece has the first few arc's made into a summarized movie like form. that will save you a lot of time.

if so, you watching the series sub right? dub is okay but I think overall sub is better.

Wishmaker007

Please do Death note or Code Geass :)

Štefan

For the most part, that is the focus. As One Piece is going on, the other 2 levels will still have series just like you described. Plus, at each pause point of OP we'll be doing them.

Spaz Boys Comedy

You should watch the entire series of One Piece instead of stopping at end of each arc for another anime.

i think the channel should focus on anime around FMA number of episodes or below. Some of the best characters in anime dont need that much time to be written super well.

TheMilkalator

i nominate gurren lagann dub as one of the short inbetween anime it is 26 episodes

Matt Smith

Knowing who joints and how they joined are completely different

Joseph a kingsbury

I have some knowledge... However, if it weren’t for having watched clips, I certainly wouldn’t have developed this desire to dive into a series this long.

Spaz Boys Comedy

Not related to the question Curtis asked but I just realized that watching Curtis react to the members of the strawhats and how they joined the crew is not going to be the same since the pic he posted shows he already knows them or at least how they look and who's joining I've would have preferred to see he's shocked and surprised face with each crew member. But I hope I'm wrong

Aidan

I’ve seen clips and even those short segments made me want to punch my monitor!

Spaz Boys Comedy

Yeah one piece I believe is going to be after hxh in the 5 dollar tier and dbs is gonna be 1 dollar tier.

Aidan

I pretty sure that was homo

Aidan

i like the idea of taking breaks in between each arc to watch another anime

Soon my friend he will know the greatness of the bone

Aidan

The filler arcs are not that bad

Aidan

Like he said, it would take years.

Connor Brennan

It’s going to be watched in arc to arc basis. So he’ll watch some of it then go to another series the come back for the next arc afterwards. Hope that helps clarify how it’ll work

Brother E

Curtis iam taking one for the team I love one piece so much I'll suck your dick if you watch it straight thru (NO HOMO)

Joseph a kingsbury

I'm probably one of the few who's not a fan of OP. It's way too long and I know people can get obsessed with it and lack on all other content and only post One Piece. I had to unsubscribe from some channels for this :( it's sad because I really like the reactions most of the time just don't watch the show so I have nothing to watch. Hope this doesn't happen. Would be cool to know what the shorter shows you plan on watching are ~

Lol the funimation dub is at like 600 he could never catch up doing arc to arc

Joseph a kingsbury

Death note or attack on titan!!!!

Does this mean it will be in the $5 tier? You did Naruto in the $1 if I recall correctly (I only joined recently so I dont know for sure, but I am only a $1 Patreon and can watch all of Naruto so thats what I assume). I am just wondering because One Piece is my favourite series, and I need to plan my budget if I plan on upgrading my tier to $5 a month.

I would hesitate to do that for a couple reasons: One is that titty stuff is at the $10 level partially to keep younger people who may have asked mom and dad for a few bucks per month to watch anime series with us here away from Rias' titties... But more importantly, One Piece is an epic series with a HUGE fan base, and I'd really rather keep that more affordable. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

That would work. I've recently almost caught up with one piece and damn that's alot of show lol. Considering each arc is pretty much the length of a larger show lol

Sean Nelson

Yeeeeees One Piece, I'd like to see you react to the 4kids dub, it's so bad and stupid

Unfortunately, My Friend, I've seen a LOT of OP clips and I absolutely fell in love with the sub voices.

Spaz Boys Comedy

there really isn't that much filler there's 860 episodes out right now and 753 episodes if you take out all the filler and as someone caught up with the manga I'm guessing one piece will go on till like 1-1.2K episodes at least

JTUltima

So the filler episodes aren’t that big of a deal. The One Piece filler is MUCH better than Naruto. I say there worth watching. However you’re going to have to see some of the filler especially in the beginning because it mixes in some canon material in those filler episodes.

Brother E

Also I vote on funimation dub for one piece it's really good

Joseph a kingsbury

What about moving the tittie anime and short anime to the $5 tier and put the really long series as the 10 dollar tier so the really committed people would stay for that and the people who want to just stay with the shorter series can do that too?

Mighty Snake

I'm all aboard for watching One Piece arc by arc! (pun intended) Edit. I mean watching an arc and then something other, rinse and repeat...

V_VMat

Oh yea, you guys' comments reminded me that I forgot to mention that I'll be relying on all of you to steer me away from filler episodes that you guys think aren't worth it... Unlike what went on at the YT channel with fights about filler with Naruto, I think our community here can come together in agreement on what should be skipped. :-)

Spaz Boys Comedy

bakuman i feel like im the only one though

I say bang out all of one piece all at once come on curtis I thought you liked banging things

Joseph a kingsbury

I support that idea cause one piece really is a great show that you should definitely watch. Also you've already done naruto so I think you can handle it.

Mighty Snake

The first episode is already recorded. that's coming up at the $1 level.

Spaz Boys Comedy

I would say split the arcs, otherwise it will get stale for everyone really fast. Plus, quite a few of us ( Myself included) aren't big fans of One Piece, you should do like: Arc 1, then Death Note, Arc 2, then kill la kill, just arc, then short story, arc, short story, you get the picture :)

watch overlord

Works for me, and it’s also best if you skip filler arcs that way we get to the real good stuff faster

Sabino Juarez

Gurren Lagann

Coco XLarge

Works for me!

Yeah man thats a great idea!

Gigamac24

yea i agree with watching arc by arc, but damn never expected you to actually tackle One Piece, but have to say I am eager to see you enjoy one of the best out there

Yes One Piece should be right after HxH. You’ve definitely got used to how anime stories can develop and become more creative &amp; complex as each series’ plot progresses. Also you’ve got accustomed to watching subbed anime so that helps too. I propose we watch the first 135 episodes of One Piece (Alabasta Arc). It’s an excellent stopping point and gives you a whole story within the entire One Piece story.

Brother E

oh god <a href="https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/one-piece</a>

Johan Meyer Hector

I like the idea. One Piece is one of my favorites and the story is amazing, this is a great way to break up an otherwise exceptionally long series.

Curtis believe me by the time one piece is over in both anime and manga we will have reached your age or close to and you would be older but whatever is chosen is fine by me

Aidan

When we doing Dragonball Super?

I'm fine with that, though, I suggest going for a shorter series before you start, since DBS is coming in soon. Maybe Gurren Lagann, or Code Geass, something longer than short, but shorter than FMA and the like.

Saioshi Kurogane

He’s in it for the long haul with this one... To be honest I haven’t seen anything past the first episode, but damn man, 800+ episodes?! I mean, if you cut out filler, it would probably be SIGNIFICANTLY shorter. Yeah, you probably should cut this up somehow Curtis.

I'd rather have many 12-25 episode long animes going on at the same time as the longer shows (Such as DBS, One Piece, ect.) However, doing One Piece in arcs would most likely have the same affect, so I'm a supporter of that.

to be honest i think one piece is too long imo u shouldnt do it stick to doable series
