Theres Vandread and Code Geass and Heroic Age...which sorta isnt a Mecha and is closer to AOT but actually kinda really is...theres also Tiger &amp; Bunny...its not a Mecha but the two MC's Looks like Mini Mechs in their suits...

I'll be honest I don't have much experience with Mecha Anime. It's a genre of the medium that I've largely neglected. The only two I've seen are Fullmetal Panic (which is about average, the Fumoffu spin off was much better) and Evangelion (which I absolutely hated). So far I'm enjoying Gurren Lagann then again I kind of am a sucker for post-apocalyptic settings like this.

So I paused the video to do something and sat down next to my wife and pressed play and the first thing Curtis says on almost full volume is Boobies then he proceeds to talk about how he likes bitches that know how to use cannons so I decided I should probably listen to this episode with a pair of headphones lol

As far as Mecha anime yo I prefer Gundam. That's just a personal opinion though and this show is still really good in itself.

If you want to know just how popular this show was: In 2007 there was a debate over updating the British flag. The Daily Telegraph held a thing where people could submit designs. The design that won with over half the votes was the union jack with Team Gurren's logo (nobody correct the name, I know it's the newer logo, I'm avoiding spoilers).

Not sure if you noticed Curtis but Kamina is voiced by the same person who does adult Gohan in dragon ball. Also remember the mowhawk guy in Kill la Kill? He would say “there are two pieces of information you need to know". That's the same line Viral (Shark Teeth) says. So the kill la kill line was a reference to that. As well as the fact that in Japanese Mohawk guy and Kamina share a voice actor.
