The koala is less psycho killer and more nihilist, I believe. That's why he says 'No hope' so often, he may believe killing them fast is kinder than whatever else these people go through

I had completely forgotten that Ponzu died until this. Worst part was seeing her body twitching every time the ant shot her. Unnerving as hell.

And this arc has just started and has a lot more to introduce. You can only imagine where it will go from here and odds are it will go in ways you would never expect. I can't wait to see your reactions.

The death of good characters with names is what makes shows respectable for me. They're willing to get rid of liked characters. But this arc still has to be my least favorite because of... well, you know.

Honestly the chimera ant arc would have passed as different anime on its own without calling it hunter x hunter, and it would have made a good show. would say the same thing about greed island as well

Ponzu's death is one of the reasons I don't like Chimera Ant arc as much as rest of the HxH. She was one of my favorite side characters, even if she wasn't really involved in the story. Also that spider dude is really creepy. (And not the Hisoka-kind good creepy)

So there’s a little bit more about Gyro, but it’s manga only. After Gyros story, we briefly see gyro, reborn as an ant, leave NGL with the narrator saying “Gon and Gyro didn't end up meeting... whether that was fortunate for the two of them or not, it will remain unknown until they eventually meet...” Togashi still hasn’t really written anymore about Gyro so they took it out of the anime to avoid an unanswered question.

I still remember how shocked I was to see the beekeeper bite the dust the first time I watched this. Get ready for more though, this arc hasn't even started to get dark yet.

This arc made me realize it's one of the best in the genre. Good and spooky just in time for Halloween.

If you thin this is dark then buckle up because later in the arc it gets cranked up to 11/10 and beyond
