Kabuto is kind of an odd one out in terms of Naruto backstories. Most main villains have some backstory that helps explain to you how they got to where they are and what leads them to their thoughts and ideas. Kabuto is different in that his goal is one he would never be able to achieve so he just kind of entirely lost it. Kabuto has no 'greater good' ideology like Danzo, where the survival of the village is all that matters, regardless of the form that takes. He has no desire to create peace like Pein and no desire to end suffering and death like Orochimaru. His goal is selfish really and not even he knows what he's really trying to achieve. Maybe that's why his attitude is so annoying, because he speaks with the same conviction and superior attitude as everyone else but he's really just a dick who's obsessed with himself.

I think Kabuto has one of the best backstories. From a psychological standpoint it explains why he is the way he is

It's very interesting to me to read what you guys think of the whole Kabuto vs. Danzo thing. As was mentioned earlier, you guys know where I stand: Danzo is clearly a more sinister villain whose actions destroyed many lives. As a person, though, it's just Kabuto's attitude that makes me hate him... I really like seeing different takes on this, though. :-)

Youre not wrong about that. BUTT think about the douchy things the other villages did. Wind: betraying the leaf in part 1. And don't get me started on what they did with Gaara. Mist: remember what we learned about the blood mist back then with zabuza and Haku as well as Boruto later on ? Cloud: betraying the leaf because they wanted the Byakugan. Pff! Idiots. Every one knows Sharingan is the real shit.

Danzo is by far way worse than kabuto....when I found out he was a major influence on kabuto I just ended up feeling bad for him. He is still a smarmy jerk but I understood why. He was a product of his circumstances. He doesnt know who he is or what he is supposed to be and is constantly searching for that answer. Like I said. Not enough to like him but enough to pity him. Not hate him.
