Don’t know what your referring to as in “people who act like him” but Bakugo is one of those characters that your supposed to hate at first but later you might come around to liking him. It’s not absolute as kinder and less violent characters have been graced with a number of people who really hate them. Big example being Goku, who is generally a nice guy but if you peer deep into the DB fandom you will find that he’s both loved and hated by a large number of people.

It depends really. I still don't like him, I haven't read the manga though.

Bakugo is one of those characters your supposed to hate (especially since he starts out as just an overconfident school Bully) but later on you find yourself really liking him. As a matter of fact in Japan they did polls for these characters based on popularity and (from what I remember) Bakugo usually gets in the Top 3.

I'm hoping I do end up liking him. I'm not even sure why, there's just something about him that has me rooting for him to shake off his douchebaggery.

That scene with Bakugo is actually what made me like part of him, not the bully part of course. Midoriya was telling him that he only won because of borrowed power that he got from All Might, but Bakugo basically told him "I don't care about any of that shit. You beat me, and I'm going to get better to make sure that never happens again." Even when Midoriya didn't think he was really responsible for his victory, Bakugo acknowledged his ability and saw him as someone better than him for the time being, and now he's going to strive to improve rather than seeing himself like he's the best as he had prior to his match with Midoriya. His statement about the two other students were the same. He realized just how good they were and how wrong he had been about himself, and he's going to put in work to become the best because that's what it means to be the number one hero like All Might. Also, I don't know if anyone explained the original Japanese version of what Uraraka said about the name Deku, but just in case, she told him that it sounds like the Japanese phrase for "I can do it," the Japanese word for "to be able to do" being dekiru. This is coming from the wiki, so it might be a little off but that's the gist of it. It would be a bit confusing to suddenly inject technical knowledge of the Japanese language like that into the dub, so they had Uraraka say that it sounds like the name of a hero instead. They also had "De"fenseless Izu"ku" be the explanation for them calling him Deku instead of explaining that Deku is an insult in Japanese for someone that can't do or achieve something.

Is very common at this point in the series to hate bakugo, so if you dont like him is ok, you dont have to force yourself to like someone who acts like him, if you then end up liking him late in the series like many others that is awesome. But is going to take some time

I think you may look at Bakugo a bit differently if you accept that he has a naturally very aggressive and abrasive personality. Don’t just hope he becomes nice or anything, but instead look at what he says and how he says it to judge his character and growth. I won’t spoil anything of course, but I think that approach will give you much better results at liking Bakugo than hoping he chills the fuck out. Lol
