Brain Rot

Greetings adventurers!

There’s no end to the oddities that make their way into my shop. Sometimes I take on botched work even as I find it interesting. This one is no exception to that. From what I understand, the intent was to craft an intellectual crown that would make you capable of speaking a multitude of languages. It got all jumbled and confused and well now you really speak some other kind of mishmashed gibberish. Yes it’s looking at you. No, I can’t stop it from doing that. Lets just say, it could make for an incredible gift to someone you didn’t like. Just don’t fall prey to its temptations.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play for D&D and Pathfinder 2E. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

If that strikes your fancy, consider becoming a Patron

Design notes from Matthew:

You might have noticed we’ve had a number of silly little things this month and I can’t deny that some of these have been bouncing around in our heads for a little bit. We try to give a good mix of silly and serious with our usual flare for the cinematic whenever possible. This month, we decided to shake out the silly ideas for a bit and deliver you some unhinged items that you may get some inspiration from. This one, as is probably obvious, takes a page right from internet culture.

Even if they’re silly, I still want to make fun items and something that I don’t see played with very often when it comes to normal or cursed items, is the languages that players know. These are typically fundamental to a character and often forgotten about, but what happens when you lose the ability to easily communicate with the world around you as an adventurer? Well that opened up a whole fleet of ideas. I realized that tying that to the internet concept of brain rot really gave it a unique angle that let me explore something new.

I usually have a good mixture of fun irreverence and serious moments mixed into my campaigns. In my opinion, it’s important to have that balance as I wouldn’t want to run a completely nutty table, but I also don’t want every moment to be extremely serious either. That’s the line I like to walk with these sillier items. They’re funny enough to cause a chuckle, but still have real mechanical grip to them.

We’re still not done for the month of July. We have one more release coming up next week along with our One More Thing which will be releasing on the same day. We’re so thankful for all of the continued support and we hope you’re having a great summer or winter depending on your hemisphere!

We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.
