Greetings adventurers!

Many had come to this small hamlet out in the countryside where they say a sword worthy of a king had been embedded in stone for years until. Some would come to try their luck while others merely came to gawk. The folks of the town didn’t mind so much. Travelers meant money to them so they were happy to see nobles, warriors, and paladins alike come and try their hand then drown their sorrows at the local watering hole. One day, a lad as big as a barn showed up and much like the others, went to try his hand. This time, the sword still didn’t budge, but the boulder it sat in did. He heaved the rock over his shoulder and down the trail he went. No one had the bravery to stop him, so he journeyed on with his newly claimed prize.

A short message before we delve in.

Today is a pretty cool day here at AB. We're releasing our first magic item that comes in both D&D 5E and Pathfinder 2E flavors. Going forward, this will be a new norm for us. Prices of tiers won't be changing. In fact, nothing is really changing except you now get access to more content across two systems. If you love both, well things just got better for you. If you've never tried Pathfinder 2E, maybe this can be a catalyst to give it a look. If you're not interested, you still get all the 5E items creatures and so on as per usual from us.

We know that some folks will be asking about converting our backlog and trust me when I say we really want to make that happen, but it's going to take time. We have someone lined up to help with that, but quality work is expensive and we want to pay a fair price for that work which means we need to space it out. If we end up growing more in the coming months then we can do it faster.

This also means that we're going to need to maintain two Foundry modules and two Kompendiums going forward. Those will come available in May when we bundle April's items up along with some changes to the Kompendium to make navigating it easier.

TL;DR Going forward, everything will be available in 5E and PF2E. We're working on converting our backlog for PF2E as well. New Foundry and Kompendium for PF2E coming in May plus improvements to current Kompendium. This comes at no additional cost to you. Just more content.

Our patrons get early access to all of these items as well as additional formats that are easily usable in both physical and online play. Additionally they get high-res art exports, easy to use text exports, behind the scenes updates, and a lot more.

This is an idea that’s been around for a bit, the classic sword in the stone but given a humorous bent of you being entirely unworthy of pulling it from the rock itself. I’ve been wanting to put it into a magic item for some time now, but finally that time has come. It’s fascinating to me to take a classic tale and put a new little humorous twist on it and I could totally see some muscle bound marauder loving this thing.

I know that I wanted to give this some heft so adding the heavy property in 5E made a good amount of sense as did giving it double damage against objects. A similar thing is achieved with the Razing trait in PF2E to keep the weapons in line that way.

The Heavy Swing ability is powerful in its own right and I wanted to give it a way to scale as you level as I’ve done with other 5E items recently. That’s why I bound it to your strength mod so it could level up with you over time. It gives you some incentive to be up close and in the fray and that’s really what I want for something like this. The enhanced degrees of success and failure in PF2E added some potential granularity and I’m quite a fan of the result.

I couldn’t be more excited to introduce ourselves in the Pathfinder world. We won’t be taking anything away from our 5E creations. This is merely a new avenue for us to explore and we hope it’s one you enjoy. We can’t wait to share our items with both communities.
