Mortal Hold (Rerelease)

Greetings everyone!

The Mortal Hold is a favorite from our backlog, now brought forth into our newest formats and it is an absolutely stunning piece if I can say so myself. Fernando really nailed the art with this one to capture that "necromantic" style and I still love it dearly.

A look back from Matthew:

This was the final "spooky month" item that we put out last year and we wanted to go out on a banger. There was a real desire for me to create a cursed bit of armor that played around with death saves, but tempted you with power in order to get you to engage with the item.

You may notice some similar themes with the item "Her Embrace" and that's absolutely true. I have a soft spot for legendary cursed armor that makes you want to engage with it due to the power that it offers, but also has this dangerous backend to it that makes you question it.

The reception for Mortal Hold was quite positive. Funnily enough, I used it as the "model item" for our new formats when I was designing them as I started around the time Mortal Hold released. It also just made sense as it was pretty popular and we wanted to show people an exciting item in the new formats.
