So excited to be back at the Craig Hospital outpatient gym… this machine at the beginning of the video stimulateS all my different leg muscles with electrodes. It felt really good to move around in an upright position and I was able to "" walk for 30 minutes without fatiguing or having any problems with my blood pressure. I did take a blood pressure medication to keep it high for when I stood up. There's a tendency for people with paralysis to have low blood pressure because we don't have circulation and blood flow in our lower extremities… Or for someone like me, we don't have a lot of blood flow anywhere. So the electrodes also help to elevate blood pressure while stimulating the muscles. I was also able to use the FES bike this week, which is the same principle only seated in my wheelchair. Both of these Machines greatly helped call me down my muscles so that my spasms we're not as intense the rest of the day and into the night. I'll be uploading a video soon showing how intense my spasms are getting as well.
Off to a red rocks show tonight! I'll take lots of videos and pictures:)
