And I miss the ocean because I call it home
I miss myself and the light I shone
Yeah I miss a love I've never known.
I miss the city lights on the sound
Cold saltwater plunges after messing around
Bare feet touching wet grass on the ground
Yeah and I miss the Salish sound.
I miss your kiss and our arguments
Both your hands on the curves of my hips
Provoking me into selfish fits
Yeah I miss those arguments.
I miss your voice the way you say my name
I guess I really am the one to blame
For making you hang up the phone.
And I hope the pain is over I hope the pain is done
My eyes still get blinded too close to the sun
I'd rather not wait I'd rather just run
Because every new love is a threat.
I wish it wasn't this way
I wish it wasn't so
Dreading intimacy
Pretending that I'm grown
Missing, always missing, I love I've never known.
