Today we cleaned around the area of my pacer to check on it and see if it was still bleeding or looking very bruised.
Thankfully, it looks much better although I am still nervous about it and finally reached a respiratory therapist who recommended that I see my primary doctor because it's a skin issue. However, I have palms with my primary doctor as you all know. QUALMS. That means I don't really like her. She is not very educated about spinal cord injuries or anything for that matter. For example, she was in the dark that a bill was just passed in Colorado legalizing psilocybin as appropriate treatment for depression and anxiety. She tried to start me on Zoloft, which is not happening! Anyway, the respiratory therapist advised that I go back to outpatient doctors at Craig, so I have to set up an appointment with them. I'll try to go on the FES bikes when I visit Craig next in order to demonstrate how I get hooked up to the bike and can strengthen my muscles through a pretty good work out with electrodes stimulating them for contractions.
Sometimes the cord attached to the diagram pacer site gets tagged or tugged and this may be what caused the area to get red and irritated. Since I can't feel very well on my chest area, as far as pain goes, I think I'll feel better once I get this looked at by a professional.
