Folks have mentioned getting used to hitting the number keys a certain number of times for certain weapons. Another option is "fast weapon swap" in settings. If you want to get extra geeky, you can individually bind weapons to keys. Since G is already bound to the gravity gun, I highly recommend players bind 1 to the crowbar. Use this text in the console: bind "1" "use weapon_crowbar" I also like to have 4 bound to the crossbow and x bound to the shotgun, personally. Custom bindings are a great way to get better at the game!

2025-02-14 07:27:12 +0000 UTCYou've probably recorded well past this, but that slowness when switching weapons probably comes from using the scroll wheel instead of the number keys: double tap 4 for the crossbow, 2 for the magnum, etc - and G for the gravity gun. Probably feels awkward at first and you'll sometimes flail for the right thing (I do), but you end up way faster ๐ I just can't think of which semi-recent game the underside of the bridge might've reminded you of that could also be spoilery... possibly a hint? Was "barnacle massaging" the hint? Barnacle Masseuse '25???

Generally I would get the submachine gun out by default (3) and swap to the gravity gun with G to break crates etc. - but you'll have to break yourself of your ammo hoarding nature to do this I think!
