Dredge Part 3!

Sorry for the lack of written substance on these past few posts everyone, I was having a bad weekend and I am all sore and tired hahahaha just being a miserable little rat and couldn't think of anything fun to say other than a :) as a "here ya gooo"

Anyway, the Dredge lateness, the allotted time slots for editing it always fell on days where I was feeling tired, no other excuses, just that hahaha.

So far this week has been a little bit of a disaster, I am going away for over four days and wont be able to film and edit this weekend and I needed to prep videos beforehand but I think I have to hold up the white flag and say I think we are going into a short break period instead again because I have felt a bit rough and run down. Currently struggling to eat anything so I think I have been bitten by a bug, I did see my little nephew who had just had a birthday party with a bunch of kids so I have probably caught some kind of horrible plague that spreads between children at nursery lolll.

Thanks for the support the last few weeks on Zelda and now Dark Souls! After Dredge, do any of these games sound appealing as a little side gig to break up the chunkier series? >

Oxenfree, Planet of Lana, Later Alligator, Alice Madness Returns - have a look at some trailers and let me know what your favourite is! Or, ofc, if you've played before. Thanks everyone!

Dredge Part 3!

Hope you're feeling better. I always get sick whenever I see my little biohazard of a niece. As for those choices; I don't know much about Lana, due to it releasing so close to Zelda, but the environments look cool which is always great to see your reaction and input to. Alice is a cult classic and personal favourite and I think you'd have fun with it. I loved Oxenfree and I would recommend this over the others but it is very spoken dialogue heavy so I'm not sure how well it works as a LP, it's not a long game but it feels a lot better playing it in 1 sitting.

Adam

Oxenfree. I still have fond memories of that game.

Rasmus

I've been curious about Planet of Lana, so I'll vote for that :) BTW, I've paused on your Totk video (while I explore my own game), but I really dig your Dark Soul play through, kind of fun seeing you flap a bit on the things that are supposed to be obscure, I can no longer flap on, (having replayed the game quite a bit). Impressed by your designer's eye too, when you intuit on the game map layout for example. Anyhooww, no rush. feel better, Amber.

Oxenfree is a game i've wanted to try myself. So i vote that. Also take care of your health, it's more important than anything game or YT related.

If you're going to keep playing Dredge, do spend more time around the western side of the Gale Cliffs and look for a campsite. There's no telling what you may dredge there, but surely, it's important! :p

Don't fret about the :) , updates should come when you feel like giving them! You definitely deserve a break, you've been working hard to keep consistent updates on Patreon and Youtube so it's understandable that you need to slow down a bit; especially if you're feeling sick. And speaking of Youtube, congrats on the Dark Souls videos doing so well! The DS community seems really happy with how your playthrough is going. Can't wait to watch this Dredge video and see whatever abominations come next out of the depths. I've played Oxenfree and it's a weird little game, A Short Hike actually reminded me of it a bit. I only heard of Later Alligator from your last post; but I watched the trailer and it looks like it would be a fun time, particularly if you're reading the dialogue. And if you're REALLY feeling burnt out, I'd totally watch a no-facecam, no-editing OoT segment.

Flukemarm

I wouldn't mind seeing Alice Madness Returns

Oxenfree is fun to play and explore as it is a bit weird but still you can discuss the choices and dialogs... Also, take a break and take care! Remember you are the most important part of the community, so having you in the best shape possible should your no1 priority!

TonyBadP5

A little break is definitely deserved! I've been eyeballing Planet of Lana and Later Alligator myself, so they probably have my vote. I'll probably want to play them myself first, though.

Feel better soon Amber

This is why I hate children, hahaha. You get yourself feeling better, Amber, and enjoy your break. Oxenfree has been on my back burner for a while, I actually started and stopped it just because I wasn't in the mood for that type of game at the time but intended to return eventually. The others, I don't know much about. I'd never even heard of Later Alligator or Planet of Lana until you mentioned them. Honestly, they look fine, nothing really hooking me in. The Alice games were always something I didn't have much interest in. Also, it's supposed to be about 14 hours long, much longer than Dredge, so I don't know about it 'breaking up the chunkier series'. You do have three games on the go, atm, and I don't know if people wouldn't rather you just crack on with them before starting more. But it's up to you. Edit: Sorry, I re-read and yes you said 'after Dredge'. I'm still holding out for Return of the Obra Dinn. Also, congratulations to being within spitting distance of 60k subscribers. You'll probably have passed it by the time you get back, so YAY for you!

I'm absolutely loving the content on the channel lately, the games you're playing, the editing, the comedy deaths, walton... I've never been more excited when I get that patreon notification! Oxenfree is the only game I've played and it was pretty cool, like an interactive short story. But from a playthrough perspective VERY dialogue heavy. Planet of lana looks really interesting doesn't it?! Love the art style. Alice madness returns is amazing by all accounts and looks right up your street but after watching the later alligator trailer that gets my vote! Looks like tons of fun, have no idea what kind of game it is though, tbh I think I just like the alligators haha Enjoy your little break! Much deserved

Mark

Please take all the time you need, Amber. We'll be here when you return, as always:)

David Langston

I thought Oxenfree was an interesting little game, it's the only one I've played of those listed but I'd recommend it. Maybe not so good if you're not feeling up for doing some dialogue reading though! As always, remember to put yourself first and take care, you've churned out a lot of long, dense videos lately. Your audience will still be here if you take a little break πŸ™‚

Andy

Yes, Dredge! Thanks, Amber. Sounds like a rough weekend. Hope you can get some rest and feel better soon. Really any of those shorter games sound good. I do love when you play a game with comedic writing to see how you react though (Later Alligator).

Matt Cheney

sorry to hear you had such a rough weekend :( hope that it improves and that you feel better soon, take all the time you need on your break! i played oxenfree a while back and it was pretty cool, very dialogue heavy but had an interesting story, they just announced the sequel recently as well so it would be pretty good timing!
