Surprise!
Added 2023-05-20 22:43:40 +0000 UTCFirst of all, no one told me this was jump scares galore, second of all, I am having a quick break from editing videos, so thought I would publish this now so you all have something new this weekend outside of Zelda :) Also I suck at the game :) I always get the feeling like I am not doing enough video wise haha, not sure where it comes from, but as soon as I publish a video the feeling returns like, right, got to do another one immediately now because I don't upload enough 😅 But I am having a little break after working late for Zelda and then back on the horse with revisiting Dredge, I love playing that, I also spotted another game I want to film called Later Alligator whose trailer made me laugh so going to try to squeeze that in when I am back. I reckon I will play Dark Souls pretty slowly, I am anticipating I will get stuck a lot, so don't get toooo excited for frequent souls uploads yet! That's all :)

I'm so happy you are playing this! And I love the way you play it, taking in the surroundings and reading items, do not worry about being "slow", that's in my opinion the best way to enjoy From Software games :)

Also, one piece of unsolicited advice: you’re really good at these games. Skip the shield, and just use fire in one hand and a weapon in the other. You’ll have a better time. You already learned to dodge in Bloodborne. You’ve got this.

Don't worry about feeling like you are going slow, that's totally the vibe these games are going for anyway :) And don't worry about feeling like you are bad at this! I died like 15 times before even making it to the first undead burg bonfire, so your gameplay in this video is extremely impressive. This game is also very much about dying in extremely funny ways. It is like a Rite of Passage everyone goes through. I did love the fact that you added some flames at one point to show how you were seething. I know you said you were going to play it, but in my head I thought we were going to be with Zelda for like a month before that, so yeah, I'm surprised! You've been absolutely killing it with the uploads, so don't you fret. 'Also I suck at this game'. Oh, shush. Everyone sucks at Dark Souls at the start, you are supposed to. Lots of extra effects in this one. I haven't played Dark Souls but from what I understand it really is about learning the move sets which you seem to be doing very well. And someone build a god damn railing around that place!!

If you enjoy the process maybe hire an editor for a particular series and do it yourself for others. Alternatively, slow down so you don't stress yourself out! Also you did super well, I remember when I first played Dark Souls. I did not go the way you went and... it was definitely not the right way to go. Also something worth noting if someone hasn't told you before, most of the Dark Souls story is told through item descriptions, piecemeal. You seem to be reading everything you pick up anyway though!
