Update Time!

Um, wow, why is this picture so big, lol. Hey everyone! I wanted to give an update on what is coming in the next few weeks!

So, first of all I have recorded hours and hours of footage! I am still working on a few things but basically I took some time off to just record and play games. I finished Outer Wilds! I reckon there is about two episodes left of content! I also want to continue to play Zelda. I had an idea to play Alien Isolation on Nightmare difficulty for a Halloween special which I have been recording! I am still not 100% sure if that will make it to the main channel or just be a Patreon exclusive. Yes it would be a full playthrough! I love that game!

So my hopes are to just to continue to film loads, edit loads, get some regular uploads to YouTube for the next two weeks. Treating myself to some of my favourite games haha. After that we have God of War Ragnarok! I was told I was on the list for an early access code but I am not sure when I will receive it or if I even will tbh ahahaha. That said I don't think it will come to Patreon as early access because I want to upload it as soon as possible! I've never played a new release like this on the channel before. I know a lot of you will want to play it yourselves before watching anyone else but I do hope it's a good playthrough! I also hope that with all this prep I can then take some time off after a lot of recording and editing and screen time.

I wanted to ask if there was anything else you'd like to see on the channel following all of this? Especially to make up for lack of early access and slow af content - let me know your ideas in the comments!

Anyway! I have a lot of editing to do, so I will get to it! Thank you for supporting the channel and waiting for my sporadic uploads

🧡Amber

Honestly would love just a comfy special of "A Short Hike", it won't be enough content for more than one episode unfortunately but I think you'd enjoy it 😄

Kena: Bridge of Spirits would be a really cool LP. Beautiful game with a sweet condensed story to it

Matt Worsham

Talking about dinosaurs, have you finished the Lego Trex? Can we have another stream like that? Chill streams are great! Hope you are doing alright by the way and not overwhelming yourself with too much work/filming/editing!

TonyBadP5

Outer Wilds DLC is definitely worth a peek. Didn't like it as much as the base game, but it had some incredible moments

Joe H

I'll selfishly ask for Majora's Mask. The episode of OOT was very nice, hearing stories of your childhood experiences with the game. Also I'd love to see some short games like Abzu or Journey, 1-2 hour games that could be finished in an episode.

Flukemarm

Personally I'd love to see you finish the Spider-man playthrough! And still holding out hope that one day, someday, you'll feel like playing RDR2 again!

Ben

Did your playthrough include the DLC? If not that is something you might want to look into. Some aspects of that are better fleshed out than the main game is.

Jurjen Stellingwerff

It would be nice to see you try "Kena Bridge Of Spirits". It's a lovely game, great to look at and is quite emotional at times.

Alan Strafford

The order you do things in can have a massive impact on playtime. It took me a similar amount of time to you, I also left the twins very late.

Andy

Hey Amber, if you've finished Outer Wilds I'm curious how long it took you. I'm playing it now and am 30 hours in which is apparently twice as long as the average completion time. I've looked up no solutions, but maybe I've explored things in a really inefficient order (I explored Ash Twin last of all the destinations I'm aware of).

Can’t wait for more great content Amber! I think you would love (& hate) Celeste, as do most of us, but it’s an amazing game. Would really enjoy seeing more souls-like games as well. Idk what else but it doesn’t really matter in the end, you make the content and regardless of the game it’s fun to watch!

Bo

not sure if you’ve decided to drop ori but hope you can continue as it gets a lot better in the second game. also hope you can make tunic into a series since you enjoyed it so much

Alie Ting

Just want to reiterate, Return of the Obra Dinn is very cool and has a lot of support on your #recommendations discord channel. Both Subnautica and SOMA fit your channel as well. There is also another cute and short (4-5 hours) game, which I am sure you would love, called Unpacking. It's an incredibly polished game on every front, be it around the art, music, sound design, game design and (implicitly emotional) story.

Outer Wilds DLC is excellent, it borrows from the magic of base game and takes it up a notch. I've never been more impressed with a DLC in my life. I think play what you think you'd enjoy honestly. If there's one thing that's clear, the positivity and excitement you exhibit while playing will make any game a fantastic watch. Your audience plays and enjoys a myriad of games, but the one thing that is consistent is you. A lot of suggestions here are amazing though. That being said, if you really enjoyed Alien Isolation; I think SOMA is a really great follow up. Keep your eyes peeled for Crowsworn, it looks like they're trying to marry Hollow Knight and Bloodborne. It Takes Two would be incredible with another creator like Emmalition. I get the impression that you'd be a fiend for open world games, like Assassins Creed; so I think Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West would be right up your alley (*points at your jumper*).

Adam

Thanks for the update! The outer wilds playthrough has been so much fun! I think these are mentioned in other comments but I would also second: - Return of the Obra Dinn - Subnautica

ChronoKnot

I'm really glad so many of the comments here are encouraging you to play the DLC for Outer Wilds. It's just as good as the base game and does a phenomenal job of adding to the world.

Ruminations

I feel like Ghost of Tsushima would be a wonderful addition to your channel! It has (in my opinion) the best graphics I've ever seen for a game and you being a game designer I think would really love that! Also, the story is awesome!

Niko

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Watch the gameplay trailer for the sequel and you’ll understand why I’m excited for it.

Nathan Elkin

It’s like hades, but with base management. Super addictive, very fun. I think she would enjoy streaming this on twitch

Nathan Elkin

Maybe Cult of the Lamb? I just stumbled onto the soundtrack on YouTube but the game actually looks kinda cute. I watched maybe 20 mins of a lets play and I could see you liking it. It came out in August and is a sort of Tunic/Zelda type game.

Chris DePrisco

Oh, and will Ori continue? I will also suggest its sequel, which I think is much better. It got a lot of influence from Hollow Knight :)

Trolez

Looking forward to Outer Wilds 👀 Some other game suggestions: - As others have mentioned, Outer Wilds DLC and Subnautica. - Darksiders. - Slime Rancher if you're looking for something really chill. Maybe best as a streaming game.

Trolez

Or a Pokémon game maybe! Not sure if fans tend to be supportive or annoying, though :/

Huib Gelling

Hi Amber! Loving all of it, I’ll watch anything you’re playing if you’re having a good time :D I’m a 100% convinced that you’ll enjoy Bastion and Transistor (or anything by Supergiant Games really). Returnal might be up your alley as well! Some (one-off) epsiodes of stuff like Super Smash Bros. or F-Zero/Wipeout, or chill building games like Islanders of Dorfromantik would be fun too :)

Huib Gelling

Also on the bandwagon for the outer wilds dlc. I will also be playing god of war Ragnarok but I'm taking time off to play it myself and will definitely watch when I'm done. I also second Control. Great world building and cool concepts/levels. Disco Elysium is a good choice too. Celeste might be something you might like. You say you're bad at platforming but you're not. Celeste is pure platforming though.

PassHerBy

Would be extremely pogged for Alien Isolation, my game of the year for 2014. You should try to play in VR if you never have (not necessarily on the channel, just in general), what an experience it is seeing the xenomorph towering a foot or two above you, he's a very tall boy 😂 For recommendations, someone suggested Obra Dinn a few weeks back - great suggestion IMO. Have you played Undertale? Would like to see you play that too, if not. Lighter content would also be cool too, little one off videos... Would also love to see some more multiplayer content on the channel; loved your bloodborne video with Emma and I think it really brought out a different side of your personality! You do you though, the things you're choosing are obviously working 🙂

Andy

+1 to Outer Wilds DLC! You'll benefit from playing it quickly after finishing the main story

Alexander Houston

Excited for the Outer Wilds episodes, would really enjoy watching you play the DLC as well!

Pre

It all sounds good Amber. Won't be tuning into Ragnarok myself because as you said, some of us will be waiting to play it first, but I'll be sure to check out your play through once I'm done. Ideas for future content would be Disco Elysium, Return of the Obra Dinn and Subnautica, which I think you've said elsewhere you'd be interested in playing. I ended up playing a few of the games you mentioned you might stream a while back, Unpacking and Far Changing tides/Lone Sails, and I thought they were pretty good if you still wanted to visit them. All very short. Still holding out for that Arcane video but it's OK if you've got other stuff to do.

The Mighty Pipe

I don't know how you feel about the open ocean, but Subnautica is a sensationally great game and one that I would absolutely love to watch you do a playthrough of.

J. P.

I'm not fussy. Play whatever interests you. I've never been one to care about exclusive content, early access content, or how often content is uploaded. I'd say just put everything straight onto YouTube, but I know some people become patrons because they want something extra so that's probably not a good idea. I'm glad to hear you want to continue with Zelda though. I loved the first video and would love to see more.

Neil Hanson

Outer Wilds DLC is an absolute must play that i hope you won't miss!

ammarwee

I saw someone on twitter mention Control. I second this!
