Dark Souls 2 Part 3!

Firstly, I am so sorry this took ages to arrive, I was so tired. Secondly, I am so sorry for anyone called Dennis. Finally, I don't think I have ever shouted as much as this, nor have I ever been this annoying/loud/obnoxious in a video before... My bad. The ambushes and surprises are really getting me y’all :) I am very self conscious and embarrassed about this video, you have been warned!

Dark Souls 2 Part 3!

Comments

Amber really has a talent for finding a way to just breeze through tough bosses. Discovering the ballista and killing the Pursuer with it on her second try to beat it is genuinely one of my favorite moments in a let’s play any time recently.

The tattoo looks gorgeous!! Also please don't feel like you're cheating by using summons. All is fair in love, war, and this god forsaken game… Don't give up skeleton!

That tattoo looks amazing, you're rocking it! No embarrassment necessary. DS2 is the most "unfair" game in the series, so you absolutely deserve to kick it in the balls sometimes. Like shotgunning Pursuer in the face with a ballista, that was a good moment. With how you play i'm 100% sure you'd have beaten Ruin Sentinel without summoning as well, you would just have to get that "dodge a punishable move -> spell" playstyle down against them, and honestly, from what I've seen, that'd take you like 4 tries haha if you'd take a small tip, there's another exit from Majula with a nice NPC to be found. Also: Fuck Dennis.

I've never seen a sorcerer so fashionably hip. Shooting soul arrows while flexing binoculars.

Suited For Gaming

Oh yeah, when you use summons, it does make the boss more difficult to compensate. No guilt required. If there is any game in the series to use whatever b.s. you can to your advantage, this is the one. Have fun :) While all souls games are like a stern but loving teacher, Dark Souls 2 is just a bully. It tricks you, abuses you, and laughs in your face. You learn nothing but defeat. It starts the damned game with an old woman laughing about this fact. Cheese it. Use summons. Use binoculars with spells. Dennis The Armorer, meet Dennis The Menace ;)

Stray Goat

"Bearer...Seek...Seek...Lest..." The catch phrase of DS2. Once you hear it, you're in the club. (skipping through the emerald maiden's dialogue to level up)

Stray Goat

"In the moment when I truly understand my enemy, understand him well enough to defeat him, then in that very moment I also love him." - Orson Scott Card, Ender's Game. To me, this quote is the embodiment of Dark Souls. I have come to realize that expecting to defeat a boss on the first try is often unrealistic. If I do manage to accomplish it, it usually means that the boss was too easy or I was overleveled or using unconventional tactics. My personal strategy revolves around first analyzing each boss's moveset. By identifying the moves that can be punished and those that cannot, I'm able to bait the boss into making mistakes and exploit their weaknesses. The key is to embrace the learning process, continuously refine our approach, and not be too hard on ourselves. Don't be afraid to face defeat, as it is an integral part of the journey, Amber. :)

Dennis is a menace! 😂 I'm personally a big fan of those moments when a play-through turns into absolute chaos. Also that tattoo is incredible, really suits you!

I'm sure some YouTube comments are gonna be mad about summoning but I really think it's part of the ds2 experience. Don't feel bad about it. Some commenters think you're not "really" playing a souls game unless your character is running around naked fighting everything with bare fists. They're wrong

Phil Jacke

Tattoo looks so cool, and the episode was great as well! *shakes fist at Dennis*

Trolez

First off the tattoo looks awesome! Second, I know you felt guilty about summoning a few times in this episode. One thing to know about this game compared to the others you have played - some of the NPCs that have quests, require you to summon those for boss fights. I avoided summons for the most part when I played this the first time and I missed some cool side quests.

Never apologize for the way you are, Amber! It's why we all love you. The tattoo looks fantastic

David Langston

Don’t sweat it Amber, whenever you’re maniacally cackling, we’re cackling with you 😋 You’re also actually quite good at videogames, you notice a lot of stuff and you deal with shit quickly and expertly 💪🏻

Huib Gelling

just wanted to say im extremely jealous of your tattoo!! props to whoever did it

prince sidon

Nah, try not to feel self conscious about your performance in a FromSoft game! Or really any game. These videos would be a lot less fun to watch if you were just perfect at all the games. I don't know about anyone else, but I find it very entertaining when you start swearing like an old sailor! 😁 Hilarious coupled with your accent! Can't wait to watch this after work!

Nick Herrick

The tattoo looks amazing! And we've only got to see a part of it. I'm sure the rest looks fire too

Arkytior

MY GOD my jaw just hit the floor with that pursuer fight. I cannot belive my eyes! That was incredible. One of the coolest moments in the history of the channel 👏👏👏 That was the hardest fight in the entire base game for me and you just annihilated it ahaha Also "I stole that guys car" this video is bonkers I can't keep up. Are you okay? I'm slightly worried about you at this point and I'm only an hour in Ahaha

Mark

You're doing great; I wouldn't worry too much about your performance. For what it's worth, I'm pretty confident you'd have defeated the Ruined Sentinels without summoning after a few tries. You have an excellent natural aptitude for the game. I've seen many youtubers struggle much more than you have so far. I don't know if you're cutting many attempts out, but to kill the Ruined Sentinels in only a couple of tries as, what, your third boss? Summon or no. Often people try to whittle down the first one on the ledge as you come in, but IMO they're actually easier once you have them all down below. Behaviourally, they sort of interchange between moving slowly and standing back, and aggressively moving towards you at speed. They end up falling into something of a rhythm and with patience you can easily best them. It's not a perfect pattern, but it falls into that aspect I really appreciate in Dark Souls 2, the crowd control element. I really like them as a boss actually, but some players never end up discovering this behavioural rhythm because they don't try playing defensively and observing. If you just rush in, you essentially force them to aggress more of the time.

TeddyBearBonfire

Don't feel bad about cheesing Armorer Dennis, he absolutely has it coming

Lamppost in Winter

The tattoo is 🔥 🔥 🔥 👍

Grant Gringle

Bahaha! That bastard in the thumbnail gave me more grief than ANY boss in ANY fromsoft game EVER!! really looking forward to watching this it sounds fun (for us lol)

Mark

damn the tattoo looks sick as fuck! and yeah this game is full of traps, it can be quite obnoxious at points so i can assure you that you're not alone in getting sick of them lmao

ChilledGricken

I’m sure it will be great. I hope ds2 is nicer to u then it is to me. This series is inspiring me to give it another go.
