Indie Puzzle/Horror!

Just something random because I feel so guilty not making videos lol. I would love to do more of these! If you have any suggestions for more indie horror and puzzles let me know too, could check them out on stream sometime in October :) I add music about 14 minutes in, let me know if you prefer it with or without music! Or if you even like stuff like this! Ha

The music really helped with the atmosphere, but playing it in silence must have had you sitting there stressed about jumpscares for an hour. I'll throw in another Obra Dinn vote for October, and a similar game called The Case of the Golden Idol. They have similar puzzle mechanics, are a bit spooky but not outright scary, and share the "you can only play it once" experience of Outer Wilds. Plus The Case of the Golden Idol has two great DLCs for when you beat the game and want more challenging puzzles.

The Return of the Obra Dinn is a fantastic indie puzzle/adventure game I think you'd enjoy (and makes for good streaming playthrough). It's a bit like Outer Wilds in that the goal is to figure out what happened, but with kind of a horror slant as you're investigating a cursed ship.

Limbo and Inside are some good ones I've played. Both aren't too long

I personally like the music, I think it matches the vibe of the game and wasn't distracting. I prefer it over complete silence haha

You may already be aware of these if you watch any other YouTubers that play inide horror, but if you want a treasure trove of indie horror games, you should check out Chilla's Art https://www.patreon.com/chillasart and Puppet Combo https://puppetcombo.com/

I don't play too many horror games myself but a few indie horrors come to mind: Stasis - a sci-fi point and click horror. Played this a while ago. There's also a newly released sequel, Stasis: Bone Totem, which seems to be more well received. LIMBO and INSIDE: kinda horror-esque puzzle platformers made by the same developer. Amnesia: The Dark Descent - played the first few hours of this. Scared the hell out of me. There are also a bunch of sequels I haven't touched. The Walking Dead Telltale series.

If you're looking for another Indie Horror/puzzle game, Inscription fits that label perfectcly! It's this puzzle card game where you play against this crazy guy who's keeping you trapped in his house and your goal is to solve puzzles and escape. I highly reccomend.

Was a nice little snack of a video, really enjoyed the different vibe compared to your normal videos which is cool. And you are correct in that there is a certain level of engagement with regards to us viewers noticing that one tiny anomaly that just passes you by until the 4th time you look at that camera. Not sure how this game would be to stream because it seems like if you were to attempt any kind of audience participation, you would really quickly lose focus and not remember nearly as well. But I am certain there are other similar genre games out there that would suit a stream better - I am however not familiar with that type of games so I can't be of any help. Anyways, I really liked this one & hope that you get your full voice back in no time!

what a lovely surprise! definitely improved my day! i played a demo for a game called Holstin last week which was pretty cool, very short and early days but could maybe be fun to check out for a stream? it does some really cool stuff with the camera and perspective, really great atmosphere too!

Welcome baaaaack? That wasn't much of a dry patch. I'm not much of a horror game person, but you always seem to be having the best time when you're playing something scary. Like, your voice says, 'I hate this' or whatever, but you have the BIGGEST grin on your face. It's great. Two suggestions, Stories Untold and another game also called Observation, although that's more of a thriller than a horror game. Still good though. You had several other suitable games listed on your poll already. Liked the music. It made sense because we had you talking as well, so it didn't seem out of place or distracting, but I imagine playing the game without music, as it was intended, is a very eerie experience.
