This is Report 379-B, which is 46 pages in condensed format. This is the second update for May 7, 2023.
Important: Until further notice, we are moving to a condensed format for Situation Reports due to increasing activity in support of the looming Ukrainian offensive. The news cycle is moving too fast to do one report every 24 hours. Up to three Situation Reports will up done a day, and there may be a significant increase in flash reports. We will also do live streams if the situation becomes dynamic. Once the operational tempo slows down, we will move back to full reports.
What's the big story? Bakhmut and we're not sure anyone fully knows what is going on in the Kremlin, but it points to significant disputes within Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Grozny that has damaged Russian offensive operations.
The second story? Ukrainian air defenses had a very good night in the face of a large missile and drone attack, but as always, it is never 100%
