What's the big story? Ukrainian forces are taking the final steps in their planned retrograde operation from Bakhmut. With the loss of two critical defensive hard points and other actions taken by Ukrainian forces, in our assessment the defense of the city is coming to an end.
The second story? Russia launched 23 cruise missiles and two drones at Ukraine. Air defenses destroyed 92% of possible targets, but it wasn't good enough for civilians in Uman.

2023-04-29 15:59:08 +0000 UTCAnd Armenia announced that if putin came to Armenia they would honor the ICC warrant and arrest him. Just2 1/2 years ago Russia saved the entire nagorno/karabak region from being overrun by Azerbaijan by sending russian troops and forcing a ceasefire. This has got to be the biggest 180 degree I've seen in a long, long time. I guess no one wants to be on a sinking ship.
2023-04-29 12:00:53 +0000 UTCThere is so much news that I had not even registered the Armenia-NATO joint exercises. That must be really, really bothering Putin. Either Armenia is playing with fire or Russia is much weaker than we even imagine.
