Yeah my problem with the forklift is that all the things you mentioned, like the tanks, airship, and drill, all either run on coal or firebending. Firebending is something that the fire nation would be very used to, while coal is just a natural extension; it is just a rock that, from their point of view, temporarily fire bends uncontrollably. But we have never seen them use oil for ICE or electrical batteries, which are your two options for forklifts.
