I swear the way Sōkka fell onto my ears for the first time was subliminal messaging to summon a primal violence I didn't know I had in me. It felt like a betrayal

clueless

Okay but why was Sokka grinning the whole time Yue was explaining she was a stillborn?? LMAO

Ru

That "bald ass head" part fucking sends me man, jesus christ.

Just became a patron to watch the Netflix avatar stuff and this video and it was well worth it! They're some of your best content :) One thing I disagree with though is the zoom at 29:11, I actually think it looks really cool because it reminded me of an old 70s martial arts movie and maybe if the movie had gone more with that aesthetic it could've been really fun

Santiago Velazquez

Literally same

Drake379

Literally become a patron just to watch this video. Worth it.

Vic Putinski

It's a shame this video is too hot for YouTube, because I think it's one of your funniest. The "how to do a small air tornado" part had me rolling!

Billy Strayhorn

me too!

rae dixon

this has got to be one of ur funniest videos man. cant stop laughing LMFAO

"If you're not going to do the rig, at least put them somewhere with an average amount of Earth" makes me think. What if they forced the villagers to relocate to a forest with some way of ensuring they can't easily pack up the whole village & leave? Then the idea could be that they can't do much to fight back because major earthbending would drop trees on top of them. Yay, I'm not the only one who likes movie Zhao & doesn't mind the change to firebending! Well, at least in theory. In practice, the problem is they don't do anything interesting with it. But it drives me up a wall to hear "characters who need a source for their fire are too weak to take seriously," which is just obviously wrong. Look at Lamplighter in The Boys & how tense it is every time he plays with his Bic because you know one click is all he needs to light someone up.

TheLithp

Well, what's weird is that he preaches "accuracy" when it comes to the names, but then like the Fire Nation is Rome, Katara & So-ka are white, & the language has been changed from Chinese characters to nonsense symbols, so accurate to what, & how is he drawing these lines about what things will or won't be accurate?

TheLithp

By far the biggest issue with this movie is that M. Night tried to cram what is basically 5+/- hours of content into an hour and 1/2. You cannot do that. There's a reason the LOTR movies are so long that they drag in places. There's a reason the Hobbit movies were nearly 4 hours long. You cannot tell complex stories in short amounts of time or you get exactly this, rushed content that completely misses or omits the key points. Case and point, they glossed over Haru, a key character, they completely omitted Suki, another key character in favor of stupid filler of like 6 men "earth bending" a rock.

Thanks for this. I let my vimeo paid account run out because I don't plan on having to upload there again. But apparently letting that run out, moved all of my unlisted videos to private. So I just paid for it again anyway, so the video is back up.

complete cannon

Went back to watch this one again - Is anyone else having a problem getting it to open? Im getting a "Private Video - You don't have permission to watch" message

Something that should be said is that M night wasn’t in charge of the casting that’s the casting directors job and he was actually a fan of the his whole family was when his kids introduced it to him to it when season 2 was ending, I won’t disagree that he was out of his territory when making this but the rest I would say was definitely studio interference

Deadpool

With the names yeah I can see your point but I do wanna point out that at the end of the day this is an American cartoon that has Eastern and anime inspirations so kind of a no win argument there

Deadpool

Became a Patron for this video, don't regret it

Pogger White

This movie is what happens when you step out of your genre, don’t have a real connection to the material and have studio interference. M.Night is a thriller/suspense director. ATLA has dramatic themes yes but it’s still a kids show at the end of the day. He didn’t know his place. A lot of videos go into the movie’s Ice berg and can all piece together why this movie was never going to work and how it grew to fall apart in addition to M.night’s dumbass decisions like Katara being cast only because she’s the daughter of like some Nick higher up and she wanted to play Katara and M.N. Was barely familiar with the show or how they cast Aang because he was like the only kid who could actually do actual acrobatics which is fine but they lean into it to where they mess up the bending so he’s doing too much and make everyone else do the same probably to compensate imo.

Marvelous

HOW DARE YOU! I did theatre in highschool, and it was NEVER this bad!

Charles Barnett

For real I just now learned that they didn’t mess up appas feet, and i know im not alone

Stefano Grosso

This movie is so bad I’m having to watch your overanalysis in parts.

2BootsareBeet

6:19 Soaka is her new nickname for him after she splashed him earlier. :D

Fabian Röling

The decisions that went into making this movie are just insane. I think everyone involved needs a quick psych evaluation just to be sure they're okay.

Kevin Bartelen

You know people talk about how white washed this movie, but can we take a moment to recognize that the fire nation, which is based off of Imperial Japan, is entirely cast as Indian (except of course for Iroh... who is Middle Eastern...) despite still using vaguely Japanese inspired imagery. Why?

Thothrax

Honestly, in the terrible Earth Prison scene, I'm more bothered by the fact that Katara sauntered across many meters from out of the screen to shove the guard. This is worse reaction times than Zuko when Aang escaped the ship.

nullvoid

Holy shit do i not regret never watching that movie.

Twitmeat

My brother in law said, unironically, that this is one of his favorite movies. In his defense he has never seen the actual show and he drinks a lot. I can't wait to send this video to him when it's no longer patreon only.

Nathan Lee

Hoo boy. This movie. This FUCKING movie.

Mason

OHhhhh how have I waited for THIS

Stray

Oh this just made my week
