After watching all three in a row, roomie and I categorized this way; - Weapons is a comedy horror - The Substance is a horror comedy - Sinners is a horror musical They make an incredible and weird line up when watched in that order 😂 I was so stoked you figured out the parasite thing, I don’t think “aunt” Gladys was ever related to the Lillie family! You mentioning her reminding you of a Brandon Rogers character had me yelling because EXACTLY—Gladys seems like something doing a poor impression of a human. The first excuse she came up with was a disease from over a hundred years ago, and she squeals over the antiques and says ‘that’s an original-i bet’ just seemed a little *How long have you been 17* lmao The layered storytelling taking us back a little further each time until we’re told exactly what happened was a great structure, but yeah I do hear the ending being abrupt/the gun thing being a little left field, definitely weird. I think the running style was just to be distinct and making it easier to show this was coordinated?

I would have preferred a less abrupt ending but I guess it suits the movie lol. Julia Garner is an amazing actress, I’m assuming since you recognize her as the Silver Surfer rather than Ruth from Ozark you haven’t seen Ozark? She is OUTSTANDING in that role, and it’s an awesome series on Netflix that you should definitely check out if you haven’t.
