Yellow Dress Act 2 Scene 5 "The Big Bad Wolf"

(A deep dark wood.
Perhaps there is a mist.
The sound of rain continues
Accompanied by
Unnatural, unworldly animal sounds.
The Little Girl enters followed by Cody.
The Little Girl runs about, giggling.
Cody stops suddenly and looks around.)

The Little Girl:
What’s a matter?

Cody:
I just got a wicked case of deja vu

The Little Girl:
Deja what?

Cody:
I feel like I’ve been here before.

I would remember being in a place like this.

The Little Girl:

(In the not-so-distance, a wolf howls)

We can’t stay in these woods.
They’re filled with all sorts of creatures
Who would jump at the chance

(As if on cue, The Man,
Dressed in a varsity jacket
And wearing a Halloween wolf mask
Jumps into view and howls.
He doesn’t quite see Cody and The Little Girl yet,
Giving them a chance to hide behind a tree.
The Man’s voice is now snarling
and animalistic as he becomes The Wolf.)

The Wolf:
Come out, come out, little girls!
I know you’re here somewhere.
I can smell the iron in your blood.
I can taste the sweat flying off your sweet skin.
I can hear your soft scared little whimper.
My big eyes
And ears
And nose
And teeth
Are going to fiiiind yooooou.

(Cody jumps out to distract The Wolf
As the Little Girl runs away.)

Cody:
Here I am!
It’s just me here!
No little girls to be found!

The Wolf:

(The Wolf runs up to Cody and smells him.
Cody is shaking, just a little, in fear.
The Wolf laughs again,
Before taking off the mask,
Revealing Seth underneath.)

Seth:

Cody:
Seth?

Seth:

(The Wolf runs off.
The Little Girl comes out of hiding.)

The Little Girl:
We don't have a lot of time left.

(Cody offers his hand.
The Little Girl takes it.)

Cody:
