2025-03-29 00:13:38 +0000 UTCI think I found the correct dialogue option on #2. You have to follow through, but I think you can change the approach. Sit the kid down and have a serious discussion about how his actions affect others. Give an appropriate punishment, like grounding or something. Then bring out the pus. Explain to him that you were going to make him smell it, but you realized that trading an eye for an eye is a bad example to set. But say you still want him to smell it so that he can understand what his sister might go through, and everyone has different sensitivities. And you smell it too, as atonement. Or something similar. Essentially, turn in from an eye for an eye punishment, into a learning moment, but still follow through, and still deliver an appropriate punishment.
